Dreaming is also conditional. From Matthew's shyness, it can be seen that his family background is not good. As an exchange student, he is often sensitive to his "exotic" status as a "marginal", which prompted his Reason trumps passion. This is different from the French twins. They can ignore all physical problems and dream as much as they like in art, philosophy, and imaginary revolutions until the gorgeous and fragile dream they build is out of the window.
