Noh

The Doll is probably the least violent film by the violent aesthetician Take-sang Kitano. The three stories symbolize the infatuation, loyalty and devotion of love respectively. These themes are not uncommon in Japanese films that are introverted. The biggest highlight of "Dolls" is undoubtedly the Noh drama at the beginning. This art, which has become a "national cultural property" in Japan, was born out of Kabuki. There are many doll operations and few singing accompaniments. The performers are extremely demanding. The title uses a few minutes of Noh to herald the tragic fate of the protagonist, just like the verdict of the twelve hairpins written by the stone. Every time I watch it, I am saddened.

The beautiful scenery is entwined around the lovers. It seems beautiful but cannot escape the final death. The old man Kitano always takes fate as the object of ridicule.

In the gorgeous and somewhat ghostly atmosphere, I found this to be a persistent story. If you are used to watching Chinese movies, then watching it is like a dream. Maybe there is something lacking in reality, and Takeshi Kitano likes to weave dreams. The first half was a bit stagnant, and then it was smooth. The two people who were held by the red rope could feel the warmth of the embrace even though they had no expressions. An old lover from decades ago was waiting for him at the old place with a lunch box. Literary films, watching too much is absolutely useless, and not watching at all is more harmful.
