During the American Civil War, a black corps "Massachusetts 54th Corps" led by whites wrote a glorious page in the battle of Charles Stan in the south. This film is a dramatic way to record A masterpiece of history on this page.
Robert Gouldshaw (Matthew Broderick), a white military officer, takes over the post of commander of the corps with dedication to the military and trains a group of rabble who escaped from the slave system of the South to the North into one. A well-disciplined army, and finally died heroically in the battle to attack the fortress. Director Edward Zwick made tears unbearable when he showed the mistreatment of black people.
