There's a distinct Oliver Stone feel to the constant flashback but very logical cut. The subject matter of this kind of political movie + difficult case is difficult to shoot. Oliver Stone, from the perspective of a prosecutor investigating a case, allows us to understand the inside story and restore the truth in the form of a half-documentary and half-detective film. A good director can make many excellent actors simply become pawns in his hands, Joe Pesci, Gary Oldman, such a character actor can't see any edge, the constant flashbacks and the sudden death of the plot characters make us Forgetting the presence of the actors makes us feel like they're simply serving the characters and thus focus on the events themselves. The last half hour of the court speech was a classic! Very methodically presenting evidence, inferring, thus accusing sinners, challenging authority, calling for truth and freedom, which really makes people's blood boil. Those classic lines "Are you going to let our children live in lies?" "Every patriot must be ready to challenge the government for his country!" "This film is dedicated to all young people who are still pursuing the truth. people!". . . . . . I like Kevin very much. Costner's role is unreasonable and nerdy, but in the face of such great adversity against the entire government, he still risked his life to pursue the truth stubbornly. Kevin's peculiar melancholy but calm temperament is really suitable for this role. To use a line from Al Pacino in "The Insider": "They are just ordinary people, can you expect them to be calm under such a lot of pressure?" This character did it, praise! I sincerely hope that there are more such heroes in the world!
