From Alexander's smile at the beginning of the film, there must be an unusual story between the two. The story begins with this tape that says Alexander Only.
The first shot of S is of him sitting idle by a dumpster in the street smoking a cigarette and looking around. Speaking of a movie, watching it for the first time and watching it for the second time are completely different concepts. When I watched it for the second time, I began to think: what would a vagabond like S be thinking when there is nothing; whether a person like S who has many painful memories loves the world more or hates the world more at that moment A little...like the eight-letter tattoo on his hand - LOVEHATE.
He is a smart person and has many so-called normal people can't think of ideas, as he said, he can think of many ways to make money, but people always say it doesn't work, never give him a little encouragement, never no.
He is a man who knows gratitude, and A and S can meet thanks to S's gratitude to people like Ruth and John who have helped him. Life was mean and cruel to him, but he remembered the people who were nice to him, the kind people who provided him with clothes, food, and even two puddings.
These are all LOVEs.
Stuart Shorter, his labels are many: street bum, alcoholic, drug addict, sociopath, street bard... For me, he is a victim of life. He walks staggeringly, speaks inarticulately, and wishes that every sentence had to be fucked. At first, like A, I thought that he was just like this because of alcoholism and drug use. It was not until he was hospitalized that he realized that he had been sick all the time.
"Stuart Clive Shorter is a carefree little boy." This sentence makes people feel a little ironic and sad. If so, where did S's hatred of life, society, and the system come from; why did he become an alcoholic, a drug addict, and a sociopath... "What murdered that little boy I was." You thought it was his first Going to a real prison once, or going to a special school at the age of 12, or being sexually abused by his own brother since the age of 9... Whatever the reason, whatever made Stu what he became, for now Let's attribute it to fate and choice.
These are the HATEs of S.
Someone asked A why he wanted to write such an unknown little person, A said it was not just because he wanted to write a book, he told S because they were friends. In the two years they met, there must have been many times when A was sad for S but couldn't say it. Even if he was a writer, sometimes we really didn't have the proper language to comment on or comfort other people's experiences - because we were not give that power.
Finally, I have to admire Tang Laoshi's acting skills. This kind of sycho cannot be controlled by anyone. It is really rare for Tang Laoshi to act as a rich and handsome man and a crazy diaosi. Whether you are a fan of BC or a fan of TH, this movie must not be missed!
