We always have a lot of questions about growth

The reason why youth is cruel is because we have already put on tinted glasses to see people. The back of peace is not war but desire. The desire to be better than others, the desire to be popular, the desire not to be excluded.

But there are always some people whose choices exceed desires and the boundaries between two people, so their very existence brings peace. For example, in the movie, the teacher who doesn't make a statement about his sexuality is a real teacher. Because he knew that once he made a choice, it would draw a line in the minds of the children, and whether the answer was yes or no, would inevitably result in discrimination.

Another example is the big G who is often bullied. He never chooses to fight back, but always helps his friends when they are injured. He can use violence, but he knows that he can't solve any problems in this way. "Do you know what tolerance is? See the difference between you and allow it to happen."

That's What I Am quotes

  • Principal Kelner: Please Steven, just deny it, for the children's sake. I don't care if it's true or not. Please just deny it.

Mr. Simon: It's for the sake of the children that I won't deny it, true or not.

  • Narrator: [as Andy heads for rendezvous with Mary Clear] I moved with purpose, and yet it was clear that my mind was not in control. My body governed by some force previously unknown to me was calling the shots. This despite the fact that it was my body and not my mind that Ricky Brown would ultimately beat unmercifully.
