The collision of classic and modern, no spark

When the actors speak for the first time in the film, it shows that this film is different. There are few films today that use such classical and stage lines as this film, and later After checking the information, I found that this is a complete copy of Shakespeare's original lines. But except for the lines, everything in the film is modern, especially the realistic style created by the handheld camera, etc., which forms a strong contrast with the classical beauty of the actors' dialogues. This contrast eventually evolved into a collision, which surprised me, but the collision was not strong enough to smash each other, and it did not bring out the sparks it should have, so it did not bring me the surprise I expected.
Even so, this film can be regarded as a major attempt in form, and I hope this attempt can have a certain effect on future films.

    The lines look so tiring!

If you can't watch it, let's pretend to force young people to watch it.

Coriolanus quotes

  • Menenius: I am known to be a humorous patrician, and one that loves a cup of hot wine with not a drop of allaying water in it. One that converses more with the buttock of the night than with the forehead of the morning. What I think I utter, and spend my malice in my breath.

  • Caius Martius Coriolanus: [shouting agitated] By Jove himself, it makes the consuls base, and my soul aches to know when two authorities are up, neither supreme, how soon confusion may enter twixt the gap of both and take the one by the other. Thus we debase the nature of our seats and make the rabble call our cares fears, which will, in time, break open the locks of the senate, and bring in the crows to peck the eagles!
