speechless

I watched the newly filmed Wuthering Heights, and it felt so-so, as I could imagine from the beginning of the plot. It is also a world famous novel, much worse than Gone with the Wind.
The hero and heroine actually fell in love with each other and stayed together. They had to wait until they were faced with death to have the amazing courage. Regardless of the heroine's husband being by the side, the hero still hugged the heroine affectionately in his arms. After the heroine passed away, he was tortured. For nearly 20 years, his depression, decadence, and deep love for the heroine finally drove him to death.
Alas, the whole tragedy, to be honest, I don't like movies that feel like this. They don't have their own unique personality. There is only a kind of abuse in it, but the abuse is not to the point. I look forward to the next wonderful world masterpiece.

Wuthering Heights quotes

  • Cathy: He seems to take pleasure in being mean and brutal. And yet, he's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. And Linton's is as different as frost from fire... Ellen, I AM Heathcliff.

    [thunderbolt]

Cathy: Everything he's suffered, I've suffered. The little happiness he's ever known, I've had too. Oh, Ellen, if everything in the world died and Heathcliff remained, life would still be full for me.

  • Heathcliff: Why are your eyes always empty? Like Linton's eyes.

Isabella: They're not empty, if you'd only look deeper. Look at me. I'm pretty. I'm a woman and I love you. You're all of life to me. Let me be a single breath of it for you.
