why the soul

Would you be surprised if I told you one day that the things you saw didn't exist at all, they were all hallucinations? But what I want to tell you is that this kind of erratic may be the truest face of life, but you just don't dare to face it. Maybe you've seen it by chance, but you can't believe it.

However, not believing does not mean non-existence.

What is the scariest thing in the world? It is not nuclear weapons, the biggest role of nuclear weapons is to intimidate now; nor is hatred, hatred will dissipate one day, and those who use hatred are the most despicable. The most terrifying thing is the human mind. The reason why history progresses is because the human mind is pushing it. No one can enslave others completely. There is probably nothing in the world that is more free than thought, but if you want to be enslaved, just pretend I didn't say anything.

What kind of person is the scariest? It's those who try to control people's minds, they can only bring disaster. There's a ridiculous scene in the movie where Elise is considered a heretic just because she doesn't eat pork, and in the hellish Inquisition she has a hoarse cry: "Tell me what the truth is!" The truth is Lo Under the pressure of Elise's father, Renzo signed his name on a confession that he was a bastard born to an orangutan.

In the face of unbearable pain, we instinctively put our heads down. This is proving another kind of absurdity in a very absurd way. The most absurd thing is that people dare not face up to the fact that they are on the verge of being eliminated by history.

What is destiny? Fate is that you never know which direction you will be pushed by the ruthless hands of history, and that is the fact that you have to accept. We are all clowns mocked by history.

What is beauty that we will never understand? It is wishful thinking, because there is a different light in our eyes.

A great reason, must bring us great happiness? It may also be an excuse made by others. We choose to ignore the pain, which does not mean that we can't feel it. We hate the person who brought us misfortune and hope he gets the worst punishment, but one day, we will feel unhappy again, and this is the fate we cannot escape.

Goya in the film is a court painter, and throughout the film, he is like a spectator. Many people don't understand why the name of the movie is called "The Spirit of Goya". These four words have nothing to do with the plot of the movie.

Because in this movie full of absurdity, only Goya has the simplest belief of a painter. Time goes by, but belief can be eternal. He recorded that era with his own brush,

but he couldn't see himself clearly. We couldn't see ourselves clearly, mostly because we couldn't perceive our own soul.

Overall Impression: A film full of artistic beauty, with absurd techniques showing the most real world.

Lorenzo stood in the camp of cannibalism three times (the rape of Ines was to eat humanity), but was overthrown twice by the people he ate (the heroine's father and the revolutionaries), only after being eaten by him, the emotion still remains sustain him. For Ines, finding the child and taking her to meet her father was the happiest moment, and so came the final, most ironic moment. Opposite roles in history, but only because of emotional involvement, fate is really nonsense

Goya's presence from the beginning to the night is very low, and there is almost no description, but the image of the cold-faced cultivator is portrayed as an entry-level three-point. In my opinion, this film should be called the cold-faced cultivator Lorenzo. Only a few famous paintings interspersed in between made people a little excited to watch. Spanish stories are so awkward in English

Goya's Ghosts quotes

  • Brother Lorenzo: There will be no liberty for the enemies of liberty!

  • [Bonaparte and Lorenzo are looking at paintings of Maria Luisa]

Joseph Bonaparte: I met her once... don't recall her being quite so ugly though. How did she have so many lovers?

Brother Lorenzo: [smiling] She was the Queen, Your Majesty.
