Frankly, I personally feel a little disappointed. When I first saw the name of the movie, I thought it was a ruthless killer movie, or a weird noir movie like the Coen Brothers, but it turned out not to be what I expected. The big director seems to love some kind of bad taste, there are a lot of bloody violent pornography, conspiracy and tricks follow one after another, but the core story is a family ethics drama, and there are all kinds of soap operas in it. The killer's intervention is vaguely seen to be the motif of a certain type of movie, but it is diluted by other clues, and it feels extremely weird.
The characterization is partial, especially the stepmother. The first shot in the opening seems to give the final answer. Or the director didn't even think about letting the audience expose any conspiracy and tricks. He is like an old movie urchin, adding a strong sense of humor to the elements of various movie genres. The whole movie runs through a ridiculous, mocking tone from beginning to end, and the objects of irony are all the characters in the play. These ill-fated characters reflect, in a way, the ugliest and most shameless side of human nature.
The most impressive thing is nothing more than the last scene, which is simply a mix of flavors. When the heavy-taste main dish is brought to the audience, some people will be happy, and some people will feel disgusting. Finally, I have to mention that Juno Temple's performance is completely unbelievable. Under the guidance of the master, I am amazed. I believe that she will have more dazzling performances in the future, and her future is boundless!
