Sure enough, I can't stand any movie about dogs. There must be a point where you can't stand it and cry until the end.
The whole movie is straightforward. Simple chores, Marley grew up with the family. The soundtrack of the film is very good, and the vivid emotions add a lot of color to the film. In the middle, I also expected that there would be some orgasms, such as the night when the neighbor girl was injured, a Marley would be a hero to rescue the master or leave honorably because of this... but it didn't. Maybe the director just wants the audience to experience the life of a dog in this ordinary life, accompanied by the owner's life.
Jenny has a very good saying, "our life is wherever we are". When I was young, I wanted to chase a lot of things, and I poured too much into the word "dream". I always thought that the current life is not what I want. The life you want must be the best. Just like the scene on the beach, John undoes Marley's collar, which is very symbolic. The director deliberately gave a lot of shots of undoing the collar, which may represent that whether it is a dog or a person, they all yearn for freedom. Later, John chose to change and be the reporter he always wanted to be, only to find that the truth was far from what he imagined. But after all, without making a choice, there will be no understanding, and we will not understand that many ordinary things and what we are going through, even the difficult and boring ones, are so precious.
Maley strung the whole story, but he wasn't the main character. He is just a dog that grew up with his master. Marley's mischief was maddening, but he was so beautiful. His death elevates the entire film. As John said at the end of the film, "He never stopped loving us". Dogs don't need great conditions, for them, owner and home are everything.
I remembered the dog I had when I was six years old. When he was seriously ill, he tried his best to come to us. When he was dying, he twitched on the cold board. I think I will never forget that look. .
