Hollywood has always been good at family light comedies, and it's not the same. Relaxed and cozy.
The ending is a bit like an open ending. Carter has become Dan's family friend, so that after Scarllet graduates, Dan may find his self-worth and life orientation, and maybe they will come together again. Even if they didn't achieve a positive result in the end, it is still a warm memory for each other to get together and disperse.
No problem, relaxed and warm. It's good to have a leisure time.
