The plot of the movie is rather childish.
In fact, the plot of jukebox musical is generally clumsy, because the song has already been written, and you have to find ways to fit the song into the plot. So it often happens "Okay now let our characters run to the stage and sing a song because we really don't know how to put this song into the plot, and we really like this song and can't let it go" matter.
However, this movie has the title of "rock" on the title. How many people's feelings can be evoked by the word "rock", so no matter whether its original intention is to express the spirit of rock and roll, it is unforgivable.

I think the biggest problem with it is that it ends with HE. All lovers become dependents, and everyone sings Don't Stop Believin' under the brilliance of rock (the kind shown in the movie). I'm a firm believer that if you're going to tell a serious story about rock, there's absolutely no place for HE - it stops abruptly at the highest point, which is the same as the movie "everything is wrong." Resolved that the handling of "Viva Rock \(^o^)/" is not the same.
Not that rock and roll leads to tragedy. The gods of rock and roll who didn't die early, didn't break up, or (and) are now alive and well are not absent, and I don't think they're too few. But what I understand is that rock is something that bursts with extreme vitality (even the I hate myself and I want to die type), and that almost certainly leads to conflict, mutual hatred, and smashed instruments.
So in the end, this Disney-style ending is really unacceptable.
I think if it's a real rock movie, it's the ending, but that's okay at the end of the day, because it's so fucking cool to watch all the way through.
In fact, after listening to the original cast recording of Rock of Ages and reading the summary of the musical's plot on Wikipedia, I felt that the original musical's plot was not so childish.
But the only thing that doesn't feel good is that Ah Tang's character in the musical turned out to be a complete jerk, and in the end, he got the villain treatment and was punished. But I don't think there are good people and bad people in rock and roll. In fact, everyone is just over-inflated people. (Actually, that’s what musicals mean, right? I’m really a brainless fan. This is such a love of Wu and Wu’s spirit. I can’t help it…)
