Nordic: Tranquil, simple, bright, at the same time cold, monotonous, depressing

This Norwegian suspense film has Hollywood standards in production, the plot is well laid out, and the editing is tight and exciting. Because I am not sure about the bottom line of the Nordic people's heavy taste, I am often afraid of what will happen in the next second when I watch it. It is about the protagonist who is a headhunter who is actually an art thief accidentally involved in a big conspiracy, and his smug lifestyle and secrets have encountered an all-round crisis. The kind and polite people around us, even our own family members and lovers, have their own thoughts about us. It is indeed shuddering to think about it, but we are often the first to doubt the people who love us the most. At the same time, it also tells us a truth, the conspirators who think carefully are often planted on women.

At the same time, the film also retains the characteristics of the Nordic picture: quiet, simple, bright, but also cold, monotonous, and depressing. After watching a few Nordic movies, I found several characteristics of Nordic people: First, they don’t mind being naked at all, especially outdoors; second, they don’t change their faces when they do all kinds of heavy-handed things, and their hearts are exhausted. There is no fear on the outside.

The suspenseful plot is well designed, but there seems to be a problem: when the police car fell off the cliff, the protagonist was confirmed as dead by the police. He should change his name and abscond to another place. Why did he return to his previous life at the end?

Bad taste and heavy taste, I was very surprised to see this one at the end of the year. like very much.

The story, tone, and soundtrack all have that Nordic somberness. The first half has been in the tense suspense of tracking and anti-tracking, which is very exciting; the puzzle solving part of the second half is a bit weak, and the screenwriter is a little too clever.

Jo Nesbø's Headhunters quotes

  • [Last lines]

Roger: My name is Roger Brown. I'm 5'6" tall, and you know what? That's more than enough.

  • [First lines]

Roger: Rule #1: Make sure you know everything about those you visit. 2: Never spend more than 10 minutes. Every extra minute increases the chance of someone returning home unexpectedly. 3: Do not leave DNA traces. 4: Don't waste time getting an expensive reproduction. Even a simple forgery will go unnoticed for weeks. 5: Sooner or later, one of two things will happen. You find a work of art so valuable that you never need to worry again, or... you'll get caught.
