Do you still need to be called Sherlock Holmes?

Watched the pilot episode.
The camera, narrative, soundtrack, etc. are mediocre and omitted.
The problem is that this isn't Sherlock Holmes at all. Sherlock Holmes's coldness, meticulousness, sharpness, paranoia, and occasional childishness... These make up the character characteristics of the famous detective, none of which is reflected in the pilot episode.
The opening guessing movie lines, what does this show? That he is smart enough to predict the development of the plot? Does it mean he's very bored right now? Combined with the later beekeeping, does it mean that Holmes' mentality was equivalent to retirement during his detoxification and began to focus on boring things? So where's the twist in dragging him out of this decadence and boredom and back into his passion for the case? Otherwise, what's the point of putting Fu in a retirement mentality ahead of time? And from my understanding of Fu, things like quitting drugs will not make him decadent. He has stronger willpower than ordinary people. Only a dull and boring life will make him uneasy and make him feel that there is nowhere to release his energy. The BBC version's handling is to say "Boring" the only reason to disturb him through his dispute with Watson. What is the handling here? The original story is that when there is no case, he will repeatedly do strange experiments, go to the streets, and exchange information with the homeless after disguising. Sherlock Holmes saw himself as a gun, and he married himself to a job, so he was polishing his gun anytime, anywhere, ready for battle. The opening treatment of Fu in the US version is confusing, and I don't know what the intention is.
Watson's appearance is accompanied by the background of a former surgeon who mistakenly killed a patient and is full of guilt. It is predicted that this background will make a big fuss in the future, right? Although it is really an old stalk of a very vulgar American drama... But the problem is that in this film, Watson came to escort him for drug rehabilitation. He should be reluctant in his heart, just trying to avoid his own fault. So what changed her mind? What made her willingly follow this strange drug addict and help him solve the case? What touched her, where was the incident, where was the conflict, where did the relationship between the characters change... Unity didn't make it clear. I feel that Watson was quite willing at the beginning, and he was still quite willing later, the characters stayed at point A...
If this play wants to discuss the new relationship between Watson and Sherlock Holmes (since the sex has changed, then there should be A good reason), the main line of the first episode should be the establishment of their initial relationship, so far, the pilot episode has not completed this task. It feels like Watson and Holmes' relationship has been established long before this...
Talk about Holmes solving the case. Sherlock Holmes's case-solving is known to be the deductive method, which is the cornerstone and symbol of the whole book. But the analysis of Sherlock Holmes in this play is simply terrible! No, it should be said that he is more like Dr Lightman, a mind reader. Of the several areas of knowledge in which Holmes was proficient mentioned in the original book, psychology was never mentioned. He is proficient in chemistry, anatomy, and understands practical botany and geology. Sherlock Holmes was a natural scientist, not a humanist or social scientist. It was his character that determined his field of study: extremely rational, precise, and desperate for hard facts. It's hard to imagine that a person like Sherlock Holmes would study the science of micro-expressions, because in fact he faced multiple suspects directly, and the chance to judge who the culprit was through dialogue was very rare. With his working method, It is more about organizing and researching the details of the scene to find the prisoner. It is hard to imagine that Sherlock Holmes will use people's emotions and reactions to solve cases.
It's even harder to imagine him saying things like "I made up a different story to take care of your emotions", and it's even harder to imagine him saying things like "I'm also annoyed that I'm always right". This kind of line is too "mortal" thinking mode. An extraordinary person like Sherlock Holmes would not say such a thing!
After watching the pilot episode, I really wondered who it was? Honestly, as a Sherlock Holmes fan, seeing such a strange character say "I'm Sherlock Holmes" is really uncomfortable. Since you don't know and don't want to spend time getting to know Holmes, why do you have to bear his name?
Even if it is viewed as a simple case-solving drama, various bugs emerge one after another. What rice is a desiccant is simply far-fetched. There is no suspense that particularly appeals to the audience. What was the purpose of the lost ring box? Foreshadowing is of little use in the end.
The most ridiculous thing is that the key clues are obtained by Watson. I feel that Watson's power of observation and action is stronger than that of Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes in this play is used to guess the movie lines and the direction of the football game. (He really loves watching TV!)
The actor's performance was also disappointing. The script has decided not to portray Sherlock Holmes as a "cold man", but Miller still maintains a smooth performance, feeling that the writer's intentions and the actor's intentions have not been communicated at all. Liu Yuling could have created a very interesting new Watson in terms of shape and aura, but unfortunately the opponent was too bad and the script was weak, so she couldn't do more.
None of the other actors left a clear impression on me.
Overall, the US version was a huge disappointment to me. In fact, I'm looking forward to seeing a new version of Sherlock Holmes and Watson, but it's clear that the writers have not considered such a combination completely, and have not found a suitable way to transfer and integrate the essence of the original.
But if there is an official first episode, I will still watch it. I hope the photography and art are more beautiful.
