Freedom in Light Art

I don't think it's a pure Les movie. It is a category deliberately set for the sake of marginalization. Drug addiction, Les, is a kind of degeneration in mainstream society, but it is precisely because of depravity that Lucy, who wants to pursue freedom, tries to find the pleasure of being alive through these. On the other hand, Sid lacks this courageous attempt at freedom, so she falls in love with Lucy. In fact, what she loves is a shadow of freedom struggling in an illusion.
But Lucy ultimately opted for the brave art of climax. But she also realized that such art would be too expensive. Perhaps, dying suddenly when obtaining the climax experience of life is the ultimate insistence and best preservation of that freedom.

High Art quotes

  • Vera: Is it the German?

  • Vera: What did you do to yourself? C'mon, tell me! What kind of problem?

Lucy: I don't know. It's not really a problem. It's more of an issue.

Vera: You just said a problem. Is it a problem? Now it's an issue. Is it a problem or an issue?

Lucy: Both. I have a love issue, and a drug problem. Or maybe I have a love problem, and a drug issue. I don't know.
