It's totally for edga allan poe and cusack. Although many people think that poe and cusack are not mainstream, both are my favorites. Regarding poe, I prefer his poems, with clear imagery and beautiful rhythm, but I don't like horror and suspense novels very much, but this uncle likes to write such kind of novels, but because I have to learn this in school, I still read it. Some. Like cusack is entirely due to that little-known serendipity. . .
This film, if you understand a little bit of Poe's literary background, you may see it more thoroughly. I personally think this film is a tribute to poe~Because after the mysterious "Poe's Toast" disappeared after 2010, there needs to be something to remind everyone to remember this strange and talented guy, so this film came out ! So if you look at it purely from the perspective of a suspense thriller type film, you may be disappointed, and there are also places where the scriptwriter is not strict (such as that glass of poisoned wine~), but if you use this film to miss Poe, I think it is the best No more. Uh, miss my college by the way. . .

It's very commercial, but he was poisoned and he just rescued his fiancée, and then he ran away by himself to find a passerby to pass a message, this. . . . Can't even explain it forcibly. . . . . The atmosphere and rhythm are okay, adding a dream of raising a raccoon

Ivan’s biggest motivation came from the screenwriter. The screenwriter tried hard to combine Edgar's novels into a movie. What Ivan did was actually just the completion of the screenwriter’s motivation. The general direction of the screenwriter is of course good, but the result seems to be somewhat unsatisfactory. It seems that there is enough suspense in the process, but it slowly weakens in the scenes that reproduce the murder plots in Edgar's novels. The charm of the movie itself.

The Raven quotes

  • Detective Fields: Do you have a cause of death?

Doc Clements: I'm sorry, I don't. I have a few ideas... but as you know, he was brought in in a very deranged state.

Detective Fields: I'm told he was ranting.

Doc Clements: Yes,. He kept going on and on about telling you that your last name was 'Reynolds'. It that helpful or gibberish?

    Detective Fields: Maybe both.

  • Edgar Allan Poe: [screaming after Ivan] i'll send you to hell!
