The Doors (1991)

A film that the Doors (1991) watched to learn about the Doors. This is because Glee rewatched S01E14, and one of the songs he sang was "Hello, I Love You" by The Doors.

Although the name of the film is called "The Door", it actually tells the story of the band's lead singer, Jim Morrison. The film begins with Jim Morrison's hallucinations after his parents' car accident, and then when Jim Morrison enters film school and meets his girlfriend who has been with her. Later, Jim Morrison's poems and sung tunes attracted Ray Manzarek, and the two formed the Doors band with two others. The story after that is the success of the door and Jim Morrison's sluggish life, such as promiscuity, drugs, alcohol and so on. At the same time, the film also mainly shows several of Jim Morrison's more controversial performances, such as provoking the police, revealing the shade and so on. In the end, Jim Morrison, who moved to Paris after being jailed for two years, died quietly in a bathtub at the age of 28. Three years later, his girlfriend Pamela Courson, who accompanied Jim Morrison for the rest of his life, also left with him.

The film has nothing to say but a faithful record of Jim Morrison's bewildering, chaotic musical career. What makes the film unique is that the writers and directors linked Jim Morrison's cynical, rambunctious attitude to life with the deaths of his parents. As if Jim Morrison spent most of his life being controlled by the old Indian who killed his parents, everything in Jim Morrison's life is full of mystery, just like the religious world of the Indians. It wasn't until at last, when Jim Morrison's madness peaked, that he was freed from the old Indian's grip. In this way, Jim Morrison let go of his parents' death and saw his father and his childhood self in his eyes. In short, the purpose of the director is to understand the "mystery" in Jim Morrison's heart through his life experience, because this "mystery" is the reason why people admire him. Just don't know the real Jim Morrison, is that true?

The filming aspect is like The Doors songs and Jim Morrison's life - full of psychedelic flavors. The film's tone is dim, the picture is hazy, the camera angle is changeable and the shaking is strong, coupled with the blurry and mysterious music of the Door Band and Jim Morrison's murmur-like singing, the whole film perfectly expresses the life of the Door Band and Jim Morrison And the main trait of psychedelic rock - stumble. To put it bluntly, the film looks unreal, with obscure dialogue, blurry pictures, no melody to the music, and esoteric lyrics. Of course, how to say it is an affirmation of this film, because Oliver Stone has made the essence of "psychedelic", in short, it is a good movie.

A few things to say that have nothing to do with the plot. Jim Morrison's encounter with Pamela Courson was romantic: after a man suddenly appeared, Pamela Courson kissed him and fell in love with him, and now this era will never be seen again. In addition, Pamela Courson's feelings for Jim Morrison are truly loyal and unswerving, and she will accompany him under any circumstances. Jim Morrison is dead, she's not alive, she's gone with him. This is true love! Also, the song Pamela Courson sang when she gave Jim Morrison oral sex was very nice and fitting. Jim Morrison is a genius! Finally, in order to understand the Damen Band, I watched this film, but the whole film did not sing the sentence "Hello, I Love You". It can be seen that this song is too commercial for the Damen Band and does not reflect the essence of the Damen Band.

The actors in this film are all familiar faces, and even those who are playing tricks are now playing leading roles in American dramas. The hero is Val Kilmer. His Chinese name is Fang Kilmer, which I think is very appropriate, because his face is really "square". This Val Kilmer, who was a hit in the '90s for a while, saw a few big productions in which he starred, but has now disappeared. Hollywood is really feng shui turns, thirty years Hedong, thirty years Hexi. The heroine is the big beauty Meg Ryan, she was very young in 1991, the standard beauty. It's just that she is just a vase in this film, even if she has a dew point performance. But what I didn't expect was that Meg Ryan had a dew point very early. I thought she only showed in "Nude Cut". Kathleen Quinlan is also exposed in this film, and she is more exposed than Meg Ryan, completely naked. It's a pity that she has never been popular, and I have no impression of her at all. I was overjoyed that Kyle MacLachlan was a handsome guy in this film. In 1991, he was still so young and handsome. Hey, he should have made more movies and fewer American dramas when he was young. Others don't talk about it, there are too many familiar faces. In short, this film is a big collection of familiar faces.

in conclusion. This is a very good biopic with excellent characters, plot, music and camera. Oliver Stone is an excellent director and writer, and he has never let me down.

The Doors quotes

  • Jim Morrison: [quoted in his film class project] Nietzsche said "All great things must first wear terrifying and monstrous masks in order to inscribe themselves on the hearts of humanity."

  • Jim Morrison: Isn't that irony? Teenage death girls want my dick not my words.

Pamela Courson: It's not so complicated, Jim. It's just sex, you know?

Jim Morrison: I'll never wake up in a good mood again.
