Ben's cancer sent him all the way west.
In one of them, he was in the motel, and he had a conversation with another man in black,
Where you headed?
West.
Somewhere in the west, in particular?
Not yet.
So, you've got direction, not destination
. Like a sea of gliding, the universe is like an ocean, and life is not like that. We know where we are going, but we never thought where it was.
I still remember that there are two women in the film who changed their lives because of him. One was a nurse who left work early because he didn’t show up for a medical check-up and escaped a train accident. The uncontacted son and the farmer who eventually found his true love. Inadvertently, our words and deeds, secretly, change others. It's amazing.
The film doesn't have much plot, some are slow rhythm, gradual tone, inner voice. An empty picture, as if we never stopped and listened to ourselves.
