Impressive

The two-line interlaced narrative, the tragedy of Sarah's life, and the process of modern female reporters peeling off their threads and clinging to find Sarah. The whole film does not show too much cruelty, but contrasts cruelty through warm humanity.

Several shocking points: 1. There is no toilet in the racetrack to urinate on the spot; 2. Bribe the Nazi patrol to protect Sarah; 3. Michelle's body was found; 4. Sarah committed suicide.

Be warmer: 1. The kind guard who released Sarah; 2. Sarah's adoptive parents took in Sarah; 3. Sarah's son found Julia.

The film is only 111 minutes long, and a lot of space is devoted to the family affairs of the female reporter Julia. The balance is slightly poor. After all, the film is called "Sarah". Many of Sarah's adulthood episodes may have been edited out, but it's totally worth digging into.

Elle s'appelait Sarah quotes

  • Julia Jarmond: And so I write this for you, My Sarah. With the hope that one day, when you're old enough, this story that lives with me, will live with you as well. When a story is told, it is not forgotten. It becomes something else, a memory of who we were; the hope of what we can become.
