Apocalypse

I really appreciate CCTV's translation of this documentary - "Apocalypse - World War II". After watching this six-episode film of blood and fire, the deepest feeling is that, no matter what, we humans have finally progressed and grown.

Because, just a few decades ago, humans were so keen to slaughter their fellow citizens and ravage the land. They thought they were "competing for resources", but how many resources are there on earth that can be found in a mess of scorched earth? !

After experiencing the earthquake, I realized the horror of natural disasters. However, after watching such a real war documentary, I have to admit that man-made disasters are always worse than natural disasters.

How gratified I am to see that the human beings who survived the war bowed their heads to rebuild their homes in silence, and then learned to respect life. Whether it's erecting a monument to a school shooter or a moment of silence for the death of a stray dog. You can say that these are more or less show and hypocritical elements, however, you have to admit that even if it is a show, the premise is that the public agrees. I think the world would be truly peaceful if everyone on the planet had learned to stop being excited by the color and taste of blood when their fellow man bleeds.

There are two lines in the film that are most memorable to me. One is the Nazi desert general who said to his subordinates - "The dead are the luckiest, because for them, death means that everything is finally over!" Another sentence The words were written by Jewish writers before they died - "I hope that when people later think of us, they will remember our smiles." The

last sentence brought me to tears.

World War II gave people too many inspirations, what is the meaning of the country, the meaning of the nation, the meaning of politics, the meaning of the army, and the meaning of independent life. At that time, hundreds of thousands of Japanese-Americans in the United States had to be immediately deported to a "shelter" to lose their freedom because of the war between the United States and Japan. Then, I will feel that bloodline is more representative of your identity than nationality. The two atomic bombs in the United States make the Bushido spirit limp for a second, and then you realize, to put it bluntly, that these greedy and crazy politicians have nothing more than to destroy others and enjoy themselves. Once the "cradle" that you will enjoy in the future can be wiped away in an instant, any position and dignity will also disappear.

Thinking that over the years, as a nation that has been insulted and hurt, we have repeatedly tried to learn tolerance. Of course, tolerance is not wrong, and grievances are repaid. When will it be possible? But I suddenly felt that the idea that even I once believed that "war is the fault of one or two war madmen, and neither soldiers nor civilians are wrong" is actually a bit extreme. Why Germany can produce a Hitler, why can Japan produce a Tojo Hideki, this is really because in their country, there is indeed the soil for the growth of the devil. A pile of cement is incombustible, while a pile of dry wood, even a single ash of ash, can burn in a matter of minutes... Perhaps the nature of a nation can be changed through reflection over time, just like human beings. But at that time and place, it's really hard to say how many people are innocent like angels. Look at how excited and frenzied the Germans and Japanese were at that time, the Germans sent teenagers into the SS, and the Japanese trained four or five-year-olds to be killing machines. Countless outstretched right arms, waves of cheers after waves...

I'm so thankful that my family and I are living in peaceful times. I hope the tragedy of the massacre will never be repeated.

May all the unfortunate souls who died tragically in World War II and all wars rest in peace, and may you forget the past when you are reborn.

The documentary also showed me an America that had truly pursued freedom, democracy and independence. Churchill and Roosevelt, especially Roosevelt, I admire a lot.
