The shining morning stars are like fine quicksand spread in the blue sky. Conscripts Ruo, Mario, Bamba, and Luigi put on S·0·C's driver's uniform under the supervision of O'Brien.
Ruo and Mario set off first in a ten-ton "Guppy". If driving the car cautiously looking ahead, taking a deep breath, he seems very uneasy, with beads of sweat on his forehead. Suddenly the engine jerked, and Ruo was lying on the steering wheel in fear, with tears in his eyes. He became nauseous and vomited incessantly, apparently from fear.
The "Dodge" car driven by Bamba and Luigi quickly caught up, throwing the slow "Jupiter" far away. Past the poultry farm is a stretch of corrugated pavement for nearly twenty miles. The car is only stable if it is traveling at forty mph. The Dodge car was unable to accelerate due to the addition of miscellaneous oil, and was almost hit by the "Jupiter" who was catching up.
Outside the window is desolate and sparsely populated, with murderous vultures circling lazily in the sky, and the continuous black wooden crosses are horrifying.
After a while, there was the sound of an explosion that shook the ground in the distance. A mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke rose over the ridge, and the sky was dyed red. When Ruo and Mario arrived, they discovered that there was a mud pool the size of a volcanic crater, which was full of thick black liquid, with a burst of oil pipes on the side, and stinking oil spilled out in bursts. The marks of the "Dodge" wheels extended all the way to the edge of the pond before suddenly disappearing. Apparently they fell into the pit and exploded.
Ruo and Mario feel more and more dangerously close, and Ruo accidentally gets hurt while crossing a dilapidated wooden bridge. When Mario drove the truck and finally arrived at the place where the derrick of the S.0.C company was on fire at nightfall, Ruo was dying.
The well fire was eventually put out. Mario took his reward and drove the "Jupiter" car on the way home. Three of the four died, and he was lucky. Thinking that he will meet his girlfriend Linda soon, his heart is full of happiness. He gleefully turned on the radio on the dashboard, which was playing the waltz "Beautiful Blue Danibe." Mario hummed happily, his hands turning the steering wheel to the rhythm of the waltz. The rugged mountain road gradually twirled and danced in his eyes. The truck drifted east and west, left and right. Suddenly, his face suddenly changed color. He grabbed the steering wheel sharply, but it was too late, and after the truck avoided the parapet, it rammed into it again, and charged off the cliff. In the flying dust, the dead Mario stared at the sky angrily with his eyes open, his bloody hands still clutching a subway ticket to go home.
