dark humor from the moon

The talent of human beings to satirize politics will never end, especially after the birth of "black humor", its satire has become more sophisticated. Not long ago, the British Guardian also used the story of "The Three Little Pigs" to perfectly combine advertising and satire. And another "Black Mirror", known for its "black humor", will give the British first a slap in the face. And this time, the targets were the Nazis and the United States.
The story unfolds in two parallel lines: one is the presidential election in the United States, and the current female president prays for a "miracle" that can lead to her re-election; the other is on the moon, where astronauts sent to the moon accidentally discovered A lunar base. It turned out that after the Nazi defeat in 1945, some Germans went to the moon, always ready to return to the earth, to complete their greatness and the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to save mankind. And it looks like 2018 is the right time.

Then all kinds of absurd plots were staged one after another, making people laugh and laugh. And when these big ambitions are frequently making a fool of themselves, we seem to be able to faintly feel the absurdity of this world.

In 2008, Germany once again presented us with an excellent film "The Tide" reflecting on totalitarianism. Not to mention the articles that other countries have repeatedly seized on the gimmick of World War II. So I'm not at all surprised that "Steel Sky" uses a caricature of a dictatorial careerist with a perpetually serious expression, and a blond, idiotic girl who is typically brainwashed by Nazi ideology, to make caricatures of Nazi Germany.

However, fortunately, the young director Warren Sola, who is only 28 years old, seems to be a newborn calf who is not afraid of tigers, and actually gave us another target - the United States. You must know that the four producing countries do not have the United States, and the director is also a Finn. As such, the film's perspective seems to be playable, focusing on the collective influence of Europe on the United States: in addition to being a country with no history and culture, the United States is a true dictatorial fanatic. And the director seems to use the female president of the United States to concentrate on expressing the dogmatic character of the United States.
In addition, many details in the film allude to the real political farce. It recreates the "race card" Obama played in his first election campaign and recalls Obama's re-election crisis not long ago. It even used the dramatic scene of "throwing shoes" directly. At the same time, Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" reveals the country's sinister intentions to deceive the masses with modern media.

In the end, the film became a series of exhibitions of government tactics. Even today, the ruling class has a knack for applying speech, the media, and national disasters. However, it is sad and ridiculous that we are so aware of these intentions in the film, but once we are in the scene, we often allow our emotions to blindly rise with the collective passion. And that's the scariest and saddest part.

But fortunately, there are always similar political satires that make deep reflections on history and the present, and use their artistic talents to convey a deep-seated concern while laughing in a way that is more acceptable to the masses. Thus, black humor is far from just targeting ambitious politicians. It is also warning and educating the public to see through these power tricks, and to make profound reflections on countless unjust disputes. Sadly, however, the learning of knowledge by human beings is re-inherited again and again, and while inheriting these wisdoms, it is too easy to forget the lessons. As the film can not help but sigh, the war will never stop. Perhaps belligerence is programmed into human genes as an instinct. In countless times of reincarnation, the wheel of history is actually the boulder of Sisyphus. It is not heading straight ahead to the road of development and progress, but rather rolling out absurd ruts in a circle.

And when we occasionally jumped out of the carriage station and stared at these marks, what else could we do but shake our heads helplessly and make a powerless self-mockery?
