Looking forward to better works by Goro Miyazaki

"Earth Sea War" is the work of Hayao Miyazaki Goro Miyazaki, adapted from the original "Earth Sea Series" by the American female writer Ursula K. LeGuin. Compared with Hayao Miyazaki's previous high-quality works, this film does fall short of the standard, but after all, it is Miyazaki Goro's debut, which is not easy, and the ending song is very good. The painting style of "Earth and Sea War" is similar to that of Hayao Miyazaki. The "dead things" in the film are very delicately drawn, but the "living things" are somewhat lacking in spirituality. In addition, Miyazaki Goro's artistic creation of the film story is far from his father's. height is still far away. It is really difficult to make a breakthrough under the halo of Miyazaki, let alone surpass it. For Miyazaki Goro, stepping out of his father's halo and winning must be the most fundamental goal and a burden to bear in his life.

Although I have only read "The Wizard of Earthsea" (I really like this book!), Sparrowhawk was still a redemption story of a young man at that time, and the movie did not express the spirit of the book, and the mind was not moved, but the theme song in the film still made me listen to me. Goosebumps all over (compliment..) That's the sentence, it would be great if my dad took it, I can't bear to have two stars. Back up the book.

Hey, I'm so disappointed, I don't even know what I'm looking at. The characters are pale, the plot has no ins and outs, and the animation is also poorly done. Ghibli has seen the most disappointing work now. This son really can't get to work. I hope to improve in the future, otherwise it would be a pity.

Tales from Earthsea quotes

  • Haitaka: Listen to me, Aaren: everything you see under the sun and stars owes its very existence to the balance: the wind and seas, the powers of earth and light, all these do is well and rightly done within the equilibrium. But now, men hold the power to control the world. Men must learn to do what leaf and whale and wind do naturally. It is for us to keep the balance. Everything that exists has its true name. The power of magic is nothing more than the power to command based on the knowledge of a thing's true name. But use that power irresponsibly, and the balance of the world is easily damaged. Spells should be made only when absolutely needed.

  • Tenar: Leave her alone! She's done nothing to you!
