Beyond Love.

This movie exceeded my expectations.
Biographical films like this are boring in my opinion.
But the last 20 minutes of the movie really moved me.
Excellent acting by Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer.
The later life of J.Edgar Hoover and Mr. Tolson is vividly portrayed.
Mainly mentioned in the details.
Eyes, hand movements, hunchback, etc.
Let's talk about the script first.
I like this narrative.
Interspersed narrative.
Towards the end Mr. Tolson also pointed out that a lot of Hoover's biography was untrue.
All of a sudden, the whole character of J.Edgar Hoover becomes angular.
No great person is perfect.
Only to show that human beings themselves are not perfect.
This movie is close to "perfect".
Personally, I have always disliked such dark tones.
I feel like I can't see anything clearly.
But because of the plot.
The tone echoes the film itself.
Reflect the darkness of the whole era.
All in all, this is a movie worth watching.
The cast is also strong.

It doesn't feel right to look at it. Check it out, fuck me.

The way of interspersed with flashbacks is good, and the portrayal of Hoover's complex character is relatively successful. It turns out that the penetration of GCZY in the United States began in the 1920s.

J. Edgar quotes

  • J. Edgar Hoover: It's easy to be the expert if you're the only person in the world with any interest.

Clyde Tolson: He does also claim he can tell as much from a cut of wood as a doctor can from an autopsy.

    J. Edgar Hoover: Ah.

Clyde Tolson: He has, um, social difficulties.

    J. Edgar Hoover: He is mentally ill, isn't he?

Clyde Tolson: He's only as mad as you are - sir.

  • Congressman: But your agency is already one of the most well-funded in Washington, is it not?

    J. Edgar Hoover: Yes, that is true sir, but our car and bank robbery recoveries totaled 6.5 million last year, and our budget is only, well, 2 million. Unlike other departments in Washington, we actually run a profit.
