"The Thing Before": It's not a remake that looks like a remake

A group of scientific expedition team found a huge alien spacecraft in the frozen ground of Antarctica. The scientific research team dug out a frozen "alien" from the nearby ice layer and went back to study. That night, when everyone was having a carnival night, the "alien" broke out of the ice and disappeared instantly. Afterwards, the team members were killed one after another. The most terrifying thing is that "aliens" can sneak into the human body to hide and show them in unexpected and disgusting ways. Under the situation of indistinguishable and terrifying situation, everyone had to join hands and conduct investigations with mutual suspicion. Exactly how to get rid of the monster or who is the real monster possessed will only be known at the last moment.

I haven't watched "The Thing", which was said to be a classic horror film thirty years ago, and watched the "Prequel" directly, without any expectations and comparison psychology. The monsters in this film are disgusting enough, and the plots are also scary enough. But after watching too many high-tech thriller horror films, I just feel that this film is nothing more than that. The simple plot, familiar screams and similar bridges can't arouse too much curiosity and fright index.

Perhaps, the remake of an old film in such a traditional way is just for the sake of those audiences who like nostalgia once again. When the black-and-white silent film "The Artist" won the Oscars and "Titanic" was hyped in 3D, let everyone nostalgic about the classic horror, which is a normal thing. Whoever makes the classics impossible to surpass, the peak will not come again, then the rest is just the era of fried rice. Not to mention, everyone is really good at this.
