Zombie - Alternative Zombie B-movie

The popularity of American zombie films should have started from the release of the first "Resident Evil" in 2002. Resident Evil is a horror game that has swept the public in Japan. Biochemical sci-fi movies have sprung up like mushrooms after the rain. There are many visual movies like Resident Evil that go against the original work, as well as third-rate movies like "Land of the Living Dead". The zombie theme has even been made into the more popular "The Walking Dead" TV series. (Of course, this is based on the comics), and even launched a cute-style game like "Plants vs. Zombies". Under the fatigue bombardment of so many works, the audience gradually loses interest in the subject of zombies. Today, I recommend a niche B-level zombie film - The Revenant. Because it is a B-level film, the publicity is not as grand as Resident Evil, and the popularity is not particularly high, but I hope that people who have not seen the film can carefully taste this alternative zombie-themed film.
It may be that I personally have a special hobby for old American slang movies. When the various FU%K SH&T words appeared in the opening paragraph, I immediately caught my eye, and I was deeply moved by this new type of proposition-why is the zombie movie so popular? Translated into chivalrous characters? Is it another cliché plot of an American-style individual hero saving all mankind? wrong! After reading it, I realized that I was completely wrong. The ugliness of human nature, the brotherhood, and the lover's fidelity are fully expressed in this drama.
An ordinary soldier, bart, was on the battlefield because of sympathy and pity for a dead child who was hit by their car. When he got out of the car, he was accidentally swept to death by the enemy. Considered by priests at funerals to be sympathy for the enemy and unable to enter heaven after death. Unexpectedly, he actually crawled out of the cemetery. Under the circumstance that he was considered dead by the state, he had to go to his good brother joey for help. After multiple investigations to find out the reason for his resurrection, he was robbed due to an accident. , they hit a robber by mistake, and used this opportunity to bart's first taste of blood. Since then they have embarked on the road of fighting crime and sucking blood. When a hero is always injured, joey is killed, bart embraces joey for the first time (referring to vampires making vampires), and both of them become zombies. They kill Bart's girlfriend's best friend while they fight crime. In order to stop bart from sucking blood, bart's girlfriend gave her life. The person who robbed bart was also resurrected as a zombie and killed joey and left his head. Before he died, joey told bart to escape the city as soon as possible, and bart also confessed to joey here (YOOO). In the end, bart wanted to escape from this life that could not die, and chose to commit suicide, but was caught by the police and studied, becoming a soldier of the military and throwing himself into the enemy country.
The whole movie is full of curses, pornography, and extreme anti-belief ideas. Most of the shooting is based on the protagonist's actions and demeanor, and the rhythm is tight, which will always make people experience the progress of the story inadvertently. However, funny plots are inserted in various places to alleviate the darkness and horror of the movie. For example, bart will vomit in various ways as long as he eats human food, and he can even drink after sucking blood.
The relationship between the characters is not complicated, and the love story is not described too much. There is no reasonable explanation for the unexplained phenomenon such as why bart will be resurrected. After all, the focus of thinking is not here. To be precise, this should be a film that reflects the current and present society of the United States at that time. The United States has been attacking Iraq since 2003, and the war was not completely over until the film was made. The movie fully reflects the misery of the soldiers during the war, abandoned by the country and used again by the country, but at the same time it also reflects the loyalty of the soldiers, even if they become zombies or walking dead, they are still willing to be loyal to the country. Although Bart, who was a soldier at the end, gave up all his ideological consciousness and calmly chose to die in the face of the police's gunfire, he did not end his own life. After learning that he could still be loyal to the country, he continued on the road of "military".
Bart: A young man with a sense of justice, he has a girlfriend who is waiting for him to return to China to get married, and a friend who is born and killed. From the beginning of being unwilling to kill, it has changed to a "zombie man" for survival and justice. The main turning point was when he was hurt by some scum of the society at that time, and he did his own justice for the government's inaction. Because he couldn't control his instinct to kill his girlfriend, he cut off her head cruelly in order to prevent her from suffering as much as himself. In the face of joey sleeping with his girlfriend and choosing to forgive his friend, after all, for him, he is just a man who has come back from the dead. You can't expect others to do as well after you die. Except that he was disappointed with the world and killed an innocent person in the end, he sucked the blood of bad people. From the beginning to the end of the film, Bart is positioned as a tragic character. He has almost never seen him laugh. Resurrection is painful for him. He has no sense of existence, and for soldiers, there is no meaning of existence. But I was unwilling to let it fall. The smile of the last scene was deeply engraved in my heart, reminding me of a classic saying: Are you a coward who is willing to sit for a lifetime, or a hero for a second.

At the end of the film, Bart rushes out of the subway station and stands up again after the police shoot innocent people with him. The contempt in his eyes was clearly written on his face. He flouted the incompetence of the police and killed innocent people indiscriminately. At the same time, it reflects the disaster that the war brought to innocent people.
Joey: This character played a very important role in the movie, and the plot of the movie couldn't move forward without him. He is the opposite of a veteran. Taking drugs, playing with women, doing all kinds of evil without breaking the law. After learning of Bart's resurrection, he didn't find a way to inquire about the reason for his resurrection or find a way for him to become a normal person. Instead, he took him to drink and have fun all night long, which led to a series of things happening when he encountered gangsters. When encountering things, I only think of escape and avoidance. After being infected as a zombie, I can do whatever I want, and even stole a car to go to Las Vegas for entertainment. Of course, it doesn't mean that his personal behavior is wrong. After all, he is a retired soldier. After completing his mission, he should have a good rest and happy entertainment. And it turns out that the state has not given him the return he deserves. Living in a rented house can only satisfy food and clothing, not life.
The ubiquitous black humour neutralizes fear and brings thought-provoking topics. The beggars with the "Please give me money and I'll do everything" sign on their bodies only recognize money and pick things up. The scum of this kind of society is also supported by the government. And the same soldiers who devoted themselves to the country were treated no different from beggars. Discrimination against blacks, blacks have always been a big point of controversy in any B-level film in the United States, not only the whites discriminate against them, but they may even look down on themselves a little, for fear of being looked down upon by others, they use force to protect their own personality. Social security turmoil, all kinds of robbery, rape, no one to maintain, forced to use Zombie to save this tragic world. Joey's zombification was caused by the fact that they were shot while fighting. Lonely people cannot survive in the world. When relatives and friends die one by one, bart chooses to die slowly in an open environment that does not affect others.
Personally, I think the focus of the description is on the changes of people before and after death. That is, the gap between gain and loss. After death, fame, money, and women are all things that cannot be taken away and become others. When he was alive, he was a respected soldier, but when he died, he was said to have no chance to enter heaven. Instead, what he did after death was the correct morality, but what he could not do before death. If there is still an opportunity to be used when the Dao is lost, it will still be used by others, which reflects the lack of personality in the world. Everything is based on achieving goals, and there is no environment and ideas for people to live in harmony with each other.
Although the whole film is a dark description, but according to the needs of the film, the ending is good, the zombie who doesn't kill good people, the zombie who likes to ridicule, the one who broke his right hand still raises his own broken right when he hears the words of the superior leader. Hands, choose to obey the leadership arrangements, even if they are only used as weapons. This is the knight! This is the soul of a soldier!
