When I was watching this telegram, I heard the name "Death Experiment", and I thought it was a movie about how to die. It was later learned that the prototype of the film was the Stanford Prison Experiment. Then I went to learn about the process and results of this experiment. Then I found out that this experiment was really cruel. Although he has made a relatively large contribution, it has deeply hurt the hearts of those college students. and condemned by society.
First of all, at the beginning of the movie, we see the protagonist helping the elderly in a nursing home, and then being fired to participate in an anti-war march. She stumbled upon this lucrative experiment by chance to complete a trip to India with her girlfriend. And then we saw a lot of people signing up for the experiment. During this screening process, we saw that the doctor asked a lot of questions to make sure these were healthy people. After screening, the protagonist was selected, including a black man, an honest and cowardly man who still lives with his mother to this day. From here, we can infer that he seems to have an Oedipus plot, but this is not the truth. We can see from the back that he actually hates his mother's pressure and control over him, and he wants to obtain the freedom he expects. So according to the arrangement of the warden, some people were arranged to become prison guards, and some people became prisoners. And the two became opposing roles. With the progress of the experiment, these two groups gradually entered their roles, especially the black man, who became the head of the prison guards. Punishing the so-called prisoners gave him a pleasure that he did not have in the real world, and he felt the power of power. and release of the soul. From the perspective of developmental psychology, a series of behaviors he showed in prison showed that he had been suppressed by his mother for a long time, which made his mind distorted and cowardly. The pressure cannot be released, so as soon as he feels the release of this pressure, he is out of control. This is also the role of the consciousness of rights. From the beginning of the protagonist's enduring to seeing a prisoner being tortured to death, he knew that if he did not resist, he could only be tortured to death by them. So he became the vanguard, the head of the rebellion. The team that resisted the guards grew. Most guards were too scared. The only thing was that one person wouldn't be afraid. He had already entered the role of his guard and felt that there was no need to be afraid of them. Calling on other prison guards to stand up and fight back. But they had stopped listening to him. The experiment had to be terminated when the bloodbath occurred. In the end, they finally realized that this was just an experiment, and after the experiment, who you are and who you are will not change a bit.
When Zimbardo explained the experiment, he said that the "bad guys" are the scum of society, scum, and do not deserve to be treated as human beings. Their names are not only stripped and replaced by numbers, but they can be treated like animals. Chained...instead, the "good guys" are given arms and power. "Once you put on the uniform, it's as if you're starting to play a role. You're no longer yourself, and you have to do what the uniform represents." The results of Zimbardo's experiment were also used. to explain everything from terrorists to flight accidents. Zimbardo's experiment is a good example of how good people can become bad people in certain circumstances. But those so-called "bad guys" don't see themselves as bad guys.
We can also know from this experiment that the environment can affect people. The two groups of people are equivalent to two small groups. There is always a need for a leader in the group. This leader is not elected, but naturally generated. Obviously, the leader of the guards is the black man, and the leader of the prisoners is the protagonist. It keeps repeating when the protagonist is being abused by the prison guards, and you will feel better when the experiment is over. But the guards don't care about that at all, they've stepped into the role. So this conflict arises. This conflict escalates as the plot progresses. eventually erupted.
