bone blood bone blood

After watching this film, I found out about Cui Yangyi. Cui's "Blood and Bone" filmed in 2004 is too similar to this film. Basically the same story, except that the father played by Takeshi Kitano is more jerk and vulgar. This Dutch film by Mike van Diem was the best foreign language film at the Oscars in 1998, the year when "Titanic" was rampant.

I have to say, this is the best movie I've seen in a while.

A British media commented that the film has the height of Dickens' works. Although it sounds very narcissistic, it is quite accurate. The original author of the novel, Ferdinand Bordewijk, is also Dutch. The original book gives the film a solid literary foundation throughout.

Of course, this is a film that explores the relationship between father and son. I was born in a family with mild feelings. I often looked at the favors and grievances in my classmates’ homes with a cold eye. I had a high degree of confrontation between father and son. I had no experience. I was more like a spy, doing some small damage under the eyes of my father. Activities, things that tear my face, I haven't the courage to do it yet. My classmates have all kinds of situations, those who run away, those whose father and son do not speak, and those whose son is very virtuous but his father has always been protective. Looking back now, I may have deliberately reduced the opportunity to communicate with my father during my adolescence, so that there would not be too many conflicts.

The father-son war in the film took place in the context of the abandonment of his son Kadazov, and then entered into a fierce confrontation that lasted for 30 years. In addition to the roles of father and son, the female characters in the film are also impressive. Mother Joba and her son's lover, Miss Secretary, Dutch women, have self-esteem as strong as their stature. Especially her mother's appearance, isn't she the Marie Curie I imagined when I was a child? After I lost my body, I waited for 6 weeks without waiting for a marriage proposal. Well, no matter how much you ask for in this life, there is no point in it. Miss Secretary, just because Kadazov has not opened his mouth to court him, he has never returned since then. I would rather marry a small person than give you this opportunity again. Dutch women, why are they so strong?

Running through the film is the development history of Kadazov's "unstoppable self-improvement" from a poor boy to a lawyer. Although all of this was just for the father who abandoned him, his determination still moved me very much, and it really made people feel from time to time. Reminds me of Great Expectations. His good friend "Communist Party" is also an interesting person. Many passages in the film involve the communist movement in the Netherlands in the 1920s, which is worth watching.

Back to the director's part, the long tradition of European painting still plays a strong role in this film. Mike van Diem's picture, in terms of tone, belongs to the level that Chinese directors cannot learn. The aesthetics of one nation and another nation, the original It's already so fixed that there's no chance of any change in sight. Two days ago, I heard someone say that the fun of "Dream of Red Mansions" has influenced generations of Chinese art workers. I actually agree with this statement. Other people's good ones are not easy to learn, so let's play them separately... This film is a special emotional film. Strong type, there are several people I really like, especially Kadazov's master in the office, he is really a good person, the personality of the Dutch people is very good.

Mike van Diem belongs to my favorite director type: the skills are not abused, only one or two times in a 2-hour movie, but it is used to convince you~~

The most special two paragraphs: 1. Expulsion When our tenants went to demonstrate, a noisy car suddenly passed in front of the quiet building. 2. The boss of the law firm told about the past. Kadazov happened to be at the scene, so the voice of the story was not interrupted. In the picture of that year, the young boss's mouth matched the lines of his memories... This kind of editing, How wonderful!
