"For contrast."
Contrast makes us appreciate life more.
Clip 1: Mother and daughter
are two identical women. I really tried my best to make them appear in the same scene. Let them meet and recognize each other. No matter what the outcome is, I prayed silently. A man who had exhausted all his glory and honor and disgrace, was amnesty after fifteen years of isolation due to the collapse of religion under the war. But when she regained her freedom, she lost a woman's most precious youth, looks, and dignity. All that was left was the baby girl in the haunting memory beneath the mad exterior. The other is unruly and uninhibited by nature, but she has not yet understood the fate of the world. She does not know that, in the dark, she is a replica of her mother. She has the same appearance, but only because of different eras, war and democracy, she has not experienced The catastrophe of a mother. In the final scene of the film, the mad Elias tightly holds the hand of the dead Lorenzo, who is still the father of the child even if everyone in the world spurns him. Seeing this scene brought tears to my eyes.
Their mother and daughter couldn't recognize each other because of Lorenzo's cruel obstruction. Arya never knew that her mother was so close to her, and that her father was the traitor who was executed on the national celebration. But no matter how filthy he was, how unfortunate she was, how unreasonable she was, no matter where she ended up, her parents ended up together, in this unconventional way. Even if she was raped and born in prison, she should have a complete family.
Clip 2:
Father Lorenzo, the master disciple, returned to Spain domineeringly, supported by democracy. In court, with the cardinal tied at his feet, he contemptuously sentenced the cardinal he once deserved: the death penalty.
The verdict came out of his mouth, and he was overjoyed.
However, just a few days later, the opposite scene happened. Spanish rule was restored, and religion was restored to the priesthood. The bishop put on a red robe again and was admired by all people. With a wave of his scepter, he pronounced Lorenzo at his feet: death penalty.
This time, everyone felt very happy. Including moviegoers.
Although the cardinal was cruel and imprisoned so many so-called heretics, he was not the perpetrator. Lorenzo's trip was even more heinous. After all, he was the one who used the punishment and advocated harsher criminal laws, and he deceived and raped a woman with no hands, and even tried to drive away his daughter. Keep your reputation.
Clip3: Love money,
Elis doesn't love Lorenzo.
How could she fall in love with a beast who tortured and raped her?
But why did she keep looking for him after she got out of prison? He also said to him: You are my only man. Desire in his eyes. Is she crazy?
Do not.
Elis loves his own flesh and blood more than blood. Fifteen years in prison had taken everything from her. After the war, the whole family died, leaving only one daughter who was taken away at birth. Although she was a product of abuse, she has always supported Elis to survive. The support and hope of motherhood made her forget. In spite of hatred and catastrophe, motherhood made her tolerant only to remember that Lorenzo was a father, not a traitor who persecuted her.
Lorenzo returned to Spain with a seemingly happy family, but perhaps it was a showpiece. His wife didn't like to hear him discuss business affairs, there were very few scenes in the film, and I didn't know if they were in love.
But what is certain is that when Lorenzo was about to be executed, Elias held up a half-sized baby and frantically shouted his name. She thought that this was their child, the crystallization of love. is love. When a person has nothing left, he still has love. Lorenzo raised the corner of his mouth slightly before he died, and that was the real gratification and enlightenment. He finally understood that Goya was right, and the God in his heart should be love, not money.
Clip 4: The contrast of human nature gradually reflects the contrast of the background of the times.
Any domineering and domineering, under the dust of the times, is humble.
Any indestructible, under the trick of fate, is futile.
But Goya's innately keen perspective is immortal. The religious prophecy of being sent to the guillotine wearing a pointed hat at the beginning of the film is finally fulfilled in Lorenzo.
We follow the spirit of Goya, follow him to find Elias, follow his perspective to understand the real rise and fall, beauty and ugliness, good and evil, feel his meaningful paintings and poignant prophecies, and find what is truly immortal.
