1. Mediocrity can also do evil
. The Western proverb goes: "No rain will think that it has caused a flood." When a chain of evil deeds is long enough that you can't see the whole picture of the chain, everyone in each link has reason to feel I am innocent.
The film's protagonist, Remy, started out as a recycler. When he savagely knocked down the debtor and took out his guts, all the audience was knocked down by him, because we thought he was a villain, and Remy's wife felt the same way, so we hoped that Remy would change to the sales department.
When Remy also changed his heart and changed to work in the sales department, he was no longer bloody, and he no longer faced the death of others, would he not be evil? Don't deceive yourself, it's just moving forward from the end of the chain of evil deeds, and mediocre work does not mean that you are not doing evil. Of course, those who did not appear in the movie, the makers of the rules of the organ transplant game are the culprits of evil.
In this sense, the movie is called "Reborn Men", and I think the translation is inappropriate. "Rebirth" seems to be the transcendence of a phoenix-like spirit. And Remy is far from that. Perhaps leaving this industry completely is what I think is "rebirth".
2. The value
of work The "meaning of work" is talked about at the beginning of the film, just like the bank lends you a house to buy a house, if you can't pay the loan, the house will be reclaimed, and the same is true for organ transplantation. Organs are also recycled when money cannot be paid.
That's the rule. The big black man is transparent, so he never doubted the value of his work, and A job is also a job. And Remy didn't understand. That's why there was a conversation between him and Big Black in the bar. This leads directly to the tragedy of his own destiny.
There are all kinds of jobs in this world, and each job represents a different social class in the secular view. But there is no doubt that every kind of work, as long as it is needed, is always done by men. That's why the Japanese movie "The Undertaker" was so successful. At the beginning of his career, Remy didn't think clearly about whether this was the job he liked and was most competent at, and he didn't find its meaning in his work, which led to his doubts about the value of his work when the environment changed.
This is a tragedy. A mistake that is often made by people who do not know themselves. A mistake many of us make is that when we look back on the past years later, we realize that the work we have done for so many years is what we do not like, and what we hate in our hearts.
3. Facing death The
movie tells us the attitude of all living beings facing death through the conversation of the recycler or through the scene. If you choose to buy with a mortgage. When the down payment is made, there are still three months and six days (the numbers are not very clear). Imagine being a person who is on the verge of death, even though he knows he can't afford the full cost, but he can buy those three months and six days of life with money (down payment), how happy it is. During these three months and six days, we must live a wonderful and concentrated life. It's a pity that when you see a man with a replaced pancreas nibbling hot dogs on the street without restraint, you realize that most people's lives are as pitiful as ants. In order to escape the recyclers, it is possible to live a garbage-like life in the ruins.
Maybe when people can face death calmly, they can listen to the truest voice in their hearts. It is said that when Steve Jobs learned that he had cancer, he worked harder and used a gesture of continuous innovation and continuous transcendence to realize his dream of changing the world.
Steve Jobs' cancer brought him back to life. Remy in the movie really doesn't count.
