Rainmaker, refers to the person who can call the wind and the rain, in the legal profession refers to the person who is good at creating cash flow, in a word, is the rainmaker who delivers water from dry land.
Everyone wants to be a rainmaker who saves people in dire straits, because everyone yearns for justice and greatness. But unfortunately, being a rainmaker means breaking with one's own interests. Good people don't live long, and bad people live for thousands of years. This sentence is cruel, but it is a fact. is fictitious. Rudy worked hard all the way, fought wits and bravery with a bunch of old and cunning "seniors", and even killed Kelly's ex-husband. typical example.
It is precisely because of this that when most people step into society and become less naive and youthful, they
often become much smoother. Have no sense of shame and do evil. Between material gain and spiritual comfort, most people unknowingly give in to material things.
But when people go back to their hearts, they suddenly find themselves changed, more or less guilty, or fearful. But if you want to change, there is no turning back.
As Rudy said at the end, "Every lawyer will, occasionally unconsciously, cross the line. If you cross the line too much, the line will disappear forever."
Rudy also said at the end, "I know I'm very popular, but there is no way to go. will slowly fall."
Rudy knew that this path, this disgusting change, was not an option for most people because this change stemmed from human nature, so "every lawyer will unconsciously cross the line", only a few people, Persist for special reasons. He was confident that he was not, he knew he was powerless to resist, but he was still afraid of becoming a shark in the sewage, so he had to run away and become a teacher instead.
Faced with the helpless reality, what we can do is to remind ourselves from time to time that although we do not need to be a contemporary Tang monk, we must always maintain a good balance between spirituality and materiality.
Looking back on the whole film, the most frightening thing is actually a joke: "You are just a shark in the sewage".

It's a fairly decent courtroom movie, and the first case was a big win, putting the insurance company out of business. Then I retired, I didn't want to work for too long, the lawyer turned bad, and I lived well with my girlfriend

Very boring, there is no climax in the whole article, it is very bland, I can't hold on to half of it, even if there is Matt Damon

The Rainmaker quotes

  • Deck Shiffler: [after waking Rudy with a before-sunrise phone call] Guess who died last night?

Rudy Baylor: Who? Do you ever sleep?

Deck Shiffler: Harvey Hale! Age 62, quite a pedigree.

    Rudy Baylor: Judge Hale?

Deck Shiffler: Yep. Croaked with a heart attack, dropped dead by his swimming pool.

Rudy Baylor: You gotta be kidding me!

Deck Shiffler: Guess which newly-made judge was assigned to Great Benefit's case?

Rudy Baylor: How the hell am I supposed to know that, Deck?

Deck Shiffler: Tyrone Kipler. Black, Harvard, civil-rights lawyer. Hates Tinley Britt, and he's tough on insurance companies. You know what a Rainmaker is, kid? The bucks are gonna be falling from the sky.

Rudy Baylor: My father hated lawyers all his life. He wasn't a great guy, my old man. He drank and beat up my mother; he beat me up too. So you might think I became a lawyer just to piss him off. But you'd be wrong. I wanted to be a lawyer ever since I read about the Civil Rights lawyers in the 50s and 60s, and the amazing uses they found for the law. They did what a lot of people thought was the impossible. They gave lawyers a good name. And so I went to law school. And it did piss my father off - he was pissed off anyway.
