The story, pacing, and acting are all top notch. Both male leads were chosen correctly. That evil, the athlete has the body of an athlete.
The carousel at the end of the credits is a classic. The interplay between the beginning and ending is also quite interesting.
The only pity is that the actresses are too mature. The senator's daughter is played by Ava Gardner.
