Many people say that this is a movie that affirms and approves of extramarital affairs. It seems to me the exact opposite. It's not even a movie about marriage and love at all, it's about people's dreams. Dreams can be brought into reality, but they must never become reality, otherwise the meaning of dreams will be lost. Dreams are man-made, but you need to maintain a sense of awe to always have that beautiful luster of dreams.
If I have to talk about the ethical tendencies of this film, then I think this film is precisely against extramarital affairs. Mel Streep's choice is an example: keep yourself in reality and let the dream shine alone.
