The power of God is manifested in the most humble places.

In the two days just after Christmas, I watched "The Nativity" and "The Passion of the Christ" respectively. As a Catholic, this may be a film that I should have watched a long time ago.

Hesitating over and over whether to write something, the background music stopped at the end of the movie.

When the three kings came to court and saw the baby, they said: The power of God is manifested in the most humble place.
I still couldn't hold back the tears.

Just as Mary asked Elizabeth, "Why did the Lord choose me? I am nothing."
This is how Mary humbly accepted the Lord's plan of salvation.
She is humble, obedient, and has a strong faith.

That's why we often look to Mary as our best example.

As a result, many people mistakenly believe that Catholicism is the Church of Mary.
In fact, it is not. We respect Mary because she is the mother of Christ, because she is an example for every member of our church, because of her humility, and moreover because of her faith.

Hopefully, each of us will be more humble in this materialistic age.

O man, you were dust, and you will return to dust. God bless Amen

The Nativity Story quotes

  • Mary: You've never really told me of your dream.

    Joseph: My dream?

[pause, he is teasing her and also contemplating his response]

    Joseph: No.

    Mary: Please, tell me.

Joseph: An angel came to me. He told me the child within you had been conceived by the Holy Spirit and that I should not be afraid.

    Mary: Are you afraid?

    Joseph: Yes.

    [laughing]

    Joseph: Are you?

Mary: Yes. Do you ever wonder when we'll know?

    Joseph: Know what?

Mary: When he is more than just a child. Will it be something he says? A look in his eyes?

Joseph: I wonder if I will even be able to teach him anything.

  • Mary: I have broken no vow.
