It is these two special people who may be able to rub the spark of life. When Annabel was doing "rehearsal" for her departure, Enoch would choose to end her life without hesitation; and Enoch was so afraid that the lover in her life would abandon him again, thinking that Annabel's lines and actions were extremely stupid .
All the anxiety associated with life and love is clumsy and moving.
In my eyes, this is not a didactic film where Annabel teaches Enoch how to live better, nor is it a cliché that asks the viewer to live bravely. I'd rather think that it shows us an attitude of relief, of being "dead" as much as being "alive".
The living never know the pain of the dead, and the dead do not know the suffering of the living. It seems that the power of loneliness transcends life and death. Just as Enoch hated his parents for leaving him alone, in his world, every breath was a painful tear. And Hao seems to represent the voice of the deceased, conveying a powerless love.
I know so little about death that I don't care about life.
One day, each of us will experience the moment when a loved one leaves us. After watching the movie, I would think, what would I do if the person I loved so much left me. This kind of thinking is cruel, and often there is no way to go to the end. Moreover, no matter how perfect you think, it will be a complete mess when you do it.
By the end of the movie, I was expecting a perfect farewell speech from Enoch. The result is a lot of happy pictures of two people together. The film comes to an abrupt end to avoid falling into the stereotype again.
I thought, maybe this means Enoch is letting go of being alive.
After all, bitterness is also sweetness.
