Old movie, still wonderful

I rarely watch silent movies. When it comes to silent films, I often think of small productions in the studio. But watching this film turned my perception of 1920s movies upside down. From the script, the actors to the scenes, it is a masterpiece. I can't help but feel that the United States was shooting air battles in the 1920s, and the gap between us is really not that big.
Although it was heard that it was tailor-made for Clara, the script still has deep thoughts. Especially in the back, Jack shot down the German plane with the mentality of revenge for David in his arms, and David on the German plane seemed so powerless in the face of the fighter plane with his hoarse cry for help. One cannot help but think of the insignificance of individuals in the face of war.
Shoot down the German machine, but it is his own people who die. This design suddenly strengthened the sad side of the enemy. This empathy is sobering when we're used to cheering at the sight of enemy planes crashing.
The neat and endless tombs as the background, low-key cursed war.
Clara's impassioned performance and the comedy factor of the ever-flying Stars and Stripes also grace the film.

    1. The first Oscar for Best Picture. 2. The black and white silent film of 1927, the meaning of the work is greater than the work itself. 3. Except for the last part, David stole the German enemy plane back and was shot down by Jack accidentally. The rest are very general.

It looks good, and in the end the two protagonists said goodbye and felt like they were kicking the cabinet door. Although it is a black-and-white silent film with no color and dialogue, it does not appear boring and lengthy. The war scenes are very large, and the excitement of the air combat is also expressed, and some amused performances are interspersed to adjust the atmosphere, which is good-looking. I like two of the plots the most. One is Jack chasing bubbles while drunk in Paris. In the war years, the hearts of young girls are like bubbles in the air. A beautiful but fragile one bursts. The second is the final confrontation between Dave and Jack. My friend went to such a point by accident, quite a sense of fate.
