Why change the heroine?

I don't think it's a prequel, it's basically a remake, the problem is that it's not as good as the original. The screenwriters are too good, what tests are they still doing, and they can basically see who has been copied.
There's no denying that the shape-shifting alien special effects are terrifying, but I prefer the tense, spooky atmosphere of the original. Besides, the alien creatures made by humans in 1982 are not necessarily much worse.
What I want to say most is that the heroine is really not good enough, and the murderousness is not enough. I miss the fast, accurate and ruthless performance of the original hero.

A large number of elements were extracted during filming to ensure that it was connected with the 1982 version of "The Thing" without adopting any content from the "The Thing" TV game published in 2002. The director of the show also drew inspiration from the classic horror film "Alien" series, For example, the heroine in this film is the soul of Ellen Ripley, who is alive and well. During the filming of the film, John Carpenter had wanted to make a cameo, but he gave up due to conflicts with the itinerary.
