Bittersweet pleasure--I see the man on the moon

Jin's performance in "man on the moon" is still very different from his
pure exaggeration and humor in "Detective Plane" and "Mask"
.
It should be said that his rich and
exaggerated serve the expression in the film.
Although there are some similarities with the previous pure comedies in form,
if you watch the whole film, especially at the end, he pretends to be terminally ill, lying on the
bed, and the scene where he was released at his funeral The video of him
performing there.

That is definitely a sublimation. You will feel that the exaggeration and deformation in the front are just
a foreshadowing, a necessary foil.
It slowly makes you feel that life itself is a tragicomedy, and sometimes you don't know what
role you play in it. Maybe you have been acting very seriously all the time,
falling into a kind of attachment, whether sad or happy.
That is a kind of happiness.
Because in this indifferent world, in the kind or malicious laughter of others, attachment
is the best relief.

In retrospect, what kept flashing in my mind was the last scene of the film:
at his memorial service, Jim Carrey lay quietly in the shaded flowers.
In the background is a huge screen showing a video of him saying goodbye to people
(I suspected it wasn't him really dying at the time, but was confused about
the meaning behind this scene, maybe we all have such a process, no
The process of death, but a process of acting as the end of attachment).

In his farewell singing, I suddenly returned to the beginning of the film:
He stared blankly at the screen and all the people watching him, ready to
say something, but he didn't say a word for a long time. Then, he turned his head and fiddled with the projector next to him at a
loss ...

Suddenly he felt that at such a moment, any attempt to convey in words was superficial and
helpless. Friends who really want to watch this film seriously, must be patient and come to the end, in
order to appreciate the bitter pleasure that the film gives you.

Man on the Moon quotes

  • Jerry "The King" Lawler: Right. Everything's a joke to this guy. Just like that thing. I don't know if that's a neck brace or a flea collar.

  • Andy Kaufman: I just... I think of the world as, as an illusion, and we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously.
