Environmental Thriller

I believe that many people have already analyzed a lot of the various religions, human nature, and horror elements of this film. Here is a little personal opinion.
The connotation of this film is obscure, and there are many angles of analysis. In fact, it is easy to have its own answer from the perspective of environmental protection. All of a sudden the power goes out across the city. People disappeared without a trace. The survivors finally found a tavern that used their own fuel to generate electricity. This is likely to mirror the depletion of global energy. People endlessly consume limited precious resources. Therefore, the director wakes the audience up in an extreme way, and the products of modern civilization, such as cars, cinemas, office buildings, and hospitals, will all be unusable and will eventually cease to exist.
The last detail is that behind the heels of the little girl's shoes are the kind of shoes that glow when she steps on them. The solar cell flashlight in her hand is also an environmental protection tool, which does not need to consume fossil energy.
At the end of the film, the little boy and the little girl ride out of the very primitive means of transportation that is also a faithful friend of human beings-horses (also environmentally friendly) walk out of the modern city of Chicago. Croatoan also implies a return to primitive life. Therefore, it is also a desirable way to view this film from an environmental point of view.
