Frustration is an illusion.

There are so many disappointed people. You are but one of them.
He wants to be a jazz pianist.
She reads books in all the time she can, and dreams of sitting in the house one day and writing.

Throughout the process I thought of broken English, of love before dawn.
At the beginning, I wrote about Harvey's frustrated life, a little frustrated and a little powerless. Everything is a game, jumping out, as if it is an abyss. There is only dissatisfaction and struggle with this.

They both miss, you know they'll meet again.
Life is still the one who is disappointed, will not become a pianist, will not become a writer.
It's just that Harvey doesn't think so.
The elevator is broken, it's okay, I can take the stairs. Work is back, I don't care, I'll never go back. What about future plans? I do not. However, there will always be.
This is not a fairy tale of a prince and a princess. You know that your unhappy life will continue, but it is an illusion anyway, so why not be happy.

I like this kind of romance, very life is very real, on the street, there are people coming and going, there is no rain to wet the protagonist, and there is no sweet kiss and long hair, just two real people.

Last Chance Harvey quotes

  • Kate Walker: You still here, still in London?

Harvey Shine: Sure. Can I explain?

Kate Walker: No, no. You don't need to explain, Harvey.

    Harvey Shine: I want to.

Kate Walker: No, honestly. I don't need to...

Harvey Shine: Kate, please. I was in a hospital.

    Kate Walker: Oh, God. Why?

Harvey Shine: No. It's nothing. I left my pills in New York. I have this irregular heart beat. I had it since I was a kid.

    Kate Walker: Arrhythmia.

Harvey Shine: How do you know what it is?

Kate Walker: Cause my father has it.

Harvey Shine: Well, young men get it, too.

    [Kate laughs]

Harvey Shine: Aw, Kate, I'm so sorry I wasn't there.

  • Kate Walker: [putting vacuum away] Okay, Mama. It's me. Done. I've got to get to work.

Maggie: Why don't you stay and have some lunch?

Kate Walker: I can't. I've got to go. Um, not to pry or anything, but why is there a large smoked ham under the stairs?

Maggie: Oh, that. Yes. It's um... The neighbor gave it to me.

    Kate Walker: The Polish neighbor?

    [her mother nods]

Kate Walker: So, probably not a mass murderer.

    Maggie: Probably not.

    [Kate chuckles]
