So somewhere. Someone asks you to tell about the happiest time in your life, and they make a film for you. You are the one who writes, and the one who shoots the kingdom of heaven. So you continue on your way with this memory. Next stop, heaven.
So, people who make movies are angels. Movies are records of happiness. Watching a movie is reading happiness. What a wonderful setting, it's just breathtakingly beautiful. . .
It's just that I only take away the memory of happiness, obviously to leave those other pasts that are either dull or unpleasant or how. One point of view is that all memories are precious. It seems that those who want to keep a past that may not be so beautiful but still precious, can't go to heaven. What a distressing thing this is. . . Was the departure of this angel at the end a good thing? It's hard to tell. Then another point: giving up is a very special thing. Free and easy and escape, heartless and passionate, are the difference between the line. Do you need a reason when choosing your own life?
So such a script can easily be made into a very emotional film, but it is not. Many people may even think it is not good-looking. . . why? -Because there is no music in the film where other directors would put in the music for sensationalism. Blank winter. A sensational script, avoiding sensational shooting, makes the film more interesting.
As life is so sensational, and life always avoids sensationalism. . .
One day I told a friend that I now feel that it is very important to live a good life. She said why? - So I didn't answer. This film gave me (I believe everyone who watches this film will have) an inspiration: that is, after leaving the world, facing the angel's question, I can think of a period of my happiness. ——To choose or not to choose, that is very difficult to say now. At the same time, if you can become a part of the happiness of one or two people. This is a very good life.
It is the work of Hirokazu Koreeda, 1998. Very worth seeing.
