Gangsters also have cute love

Before commenting, I was bothered by the question of ratings. Before grading, I was bothered by the title issue. First, let me talk about the reasons for the difficulty in scoring. This is a movie I accidentally watched while eating at noon. I have heard of this movie before, there are many rumors about Jet Li, what is selling a foreign country to be a dog, Jet Li insulting Chinese people, etc. These negative news. But I also want to be somewhat protective. I have also heard that it was because of Mrs. Jet Li's failure in business, that Jet Li signed a large amount of movies. These are not easy to verify anyway, not to mention that we only watched this movie. When I first started watching this movie, if I looked at it by star rating, I watched it with a 2-star mentality. From the beginning, it is indeed a complete action movie. Almost followed by "get'em" and "hey hey" kind of sounds. Then the fight scene also fits the title "Danny The Dog" very well. Maybe 2 stars at this time is right. Certainly the first quarter of the movie is almost like that. Until later the plot took a turn, Danny's boss died. Well... it should have been dead at the time. Danny integrated into the family of piano tuners, and the plot changed dramatically. It's not just a fight between dogs and people, plus one point.
After that, Danny and the piano tuner Sam's family started a complicated life that was cute, happy and hazy. Later, Sam taught Danny the correct worldview and how to live. The above scenes are also very warm. For me personally, the scene where Danny tries on his hat at the supermarket is enough to give the movie a whole point! Because this is the cutest scene in all of Jet Li's movies I've seen! In fact, it is not easy to ask Chinese martial arts superstars to do this.
There are more or less holes in the authenticity of the film. Danny grew up with his perverted uncle and never had contact with many outsiders. Even if they contacted him, they were all his uncle's subordinates, and they would not give him a good face, nor would they teach him anything. So Danny is fluent in English relying on that ABCDEFG textbook for children? If this is the case, then I think everyone in the country should reflect and be ashamed. And Sam, the blind piano tuner, blind man I want to stress. You are blind in this movie, not a prophet. How do you know Danny has a leather chain around his neck? How could you smash his uncle's head so accurately and calmly say "shut the fxxk up"? But it's more believable that these things actually happened to Sam. At least it's more believable than what happened to other people. There are also some smaller loopholes, such as why not hit the key points, etc.. Such scenes are found in many movies, especially action movies. It's all for the continuity of the film, for this, I believe it should be unsurprising and used to it. But a movie with many of the above shots is definitely not a movie made with heart. The slightly touching ending at the end is nothing but the normal play of the script development and the actors. For the above shortcomings, it is impossible to give 4 stars.
As for Danny's emotional changes throughout the movie, it's worth discussing and interesting. In fact, most people who have seen this movie should think that Danny's emotional changes are very straightforward and clear, but some scenes are still very interesting. Funny enough I can't give this movie 2 stars. Such as the love between Danny and Victoria. I think at the end of Danny's duel with his uncle, before his uncle threw the pistol, until he threw the pistol, I thought Victoria was going to jump out and block a shot for Danny, and then Danny got to know him. But maybe that's too vulgar, the script doesn't do it. Back to the discussion of Danny and Victoria's relationship. There are many scenes in the movie that have nothing to do with the main plot, about the two of them. For example, when Victoria kissed Danny for the first time, Danny said to Sam, "It's very sweet and comfortable." This Danny is a person who is not good at expressing and has an underdeveloped IQ. If he is a normal person, he likes it. This is the default on Danny's side. For Victoria, in addition to the first kiss, there was a second, or even a third. If the first kiss on the cheek represents friendliness and kindness, then the second and third time I believe there will be qualitative sublimation. There's more, Victoria's worries about Danny, Danny's rush to die, and his enthusiasm to help Danny... Many American TV shows have proved that this is the beginning of their love.
As to why Danny didn't end up being his ideal son-in-law for Sam, we can see from the end. It ends with Danny and Sam going to Victoria's 10,000-person piano concert. This incident has been foreshadowed many times since a long time ago, and finally it was used as a finale shot. When Victoria finished her brief dialogue, Danny understood and fell into the affection of the two. Finally Danny cried.
I feel that what the film was meant to convey is that Danny found his real family from a warm family, and misses his mother, touching and complicated tears. But what is the premise of these tears? Of course Sam didn't tell Danny what love was, why Victoria valued him so much, and what he didn't tell Danny was how to express true love from the heart. This also reflects why the theme "Danny The Dog" is not "Danny The Man". If the film's theme is the latter, then it might be a 2-star action romance and Sam's grandson at the end of the show.
In this way, the reason for the upgrade from 2 stars to 3 stars turned out to be an inadvertent achievement of the film itself: dog love.
