For years, when the name of Felix Bush (Robert Duvall), a recluse in the backwoods, has been mentioned, the residents of the local town will look horrified because everyone has heard of it. There have been rumors about him, thinking that he has done all kinds of terrible things that cannot be described in words. Not only has he become a cold-blooded animal, but he has even been in the company of demons and exchanged his soul for strange abilities... So it is understandable, Why do people shy away from him like the plague. Then, suddenly one day, Felix shows up in town with a shotgun and a bag of cash, claiming that he's going to have a funeral - and that he wants to see it all while he's alive . For a while, Felix's unexpected move created a huge buzz, and everyone who knew it kept talking about it.
Realizing that he could make a fortune with Felix's "living funeral," funeral home owner Frank Quinn (Bill Murray), with his rhetoric, has hired his gentleman in particular. The young apprentice Buddy Robinson (Lucas Black) stops business. Then he soon discovered that behind Felix's overly surreal plans was a very real and long-awaited secret, and this time Felix would stand in front of everyone and tell him Everyone explained why they had been hiding in the forest all the time.
"My Own Funeral" was screened at the Toronto Film Festival and received good reviews. Its US distribution rights were bought by Sony Classics and it is scheduled to be released on July 30.
