The story tells the thug Milton, played by Nicolas Cage, who rushes out of hell in search of one last chance at redemption. Milton intends to stop a group of cultists from completing the ritual with his granddaughter on a full moon night, but he only has three days... With the help of Piper, the sexy waitress played by Amber Heard, he tracks down the cult. The whereabouts of the leader, Jonah King, because King believes that he is destined to sacrifice the baby to open the gates of hell.
Of course, the troubles don't stop there. Milton has to face the pursuit of the police and a mysterious killer named "The Accountant" (played by William Fichtner), who is rumored to be sent by the devil to kill Milton is brought back to hell...
