love this light comedy

Comedy, good actors, family, humor, and music are the combination of elements that I like. Although it is not a perfect movie, it does not affect my admiration for her.

Synopsis: Charlie and Miranda are a loving father and daughter. Miranda learns to be optimistic by her father's side, and Charlie completes his "crazy" treasure hunt with her daughter's financial and operational support.

Charlie's passion always stays in that moment: "I saw a group of naked Asian men swimming from the sea to the beach in California". From rock bands to finding treasures left by the Spaniards to gifts for daughters - wanting to leave what you are most proud of to the most precious. This reflects Charlie's state of mind, a disease, a concept that has a mysterious connection to the word California - freedom? Or a dream? Or the place in your heart that you haven't reached yet? It's not just Charlie's disease, at least I have it too, maybe you too.

Miranda is a precocious and bitter child who dropped out of middle school to work at McDonald's (child labor?), raising her father and a house. (It doesn't look very hard, and I really feel the gap between developing countries and developed countries.) Not only that, but she also burned her hard-earned money to accompany Mad Dad to realize his Spring and Autumn Dream. We often sigh about the love of our parents, and when we look at Miranda's love for Charlie in the movie, I'm afraid it will be compared: even a successful tiger mother, watching her son thinking about building a rocket every day, probably can't stand it. . But Miranda can, because her love has no expectations, just attachment. She also has her own dream, a car, a dishwasher, do it by herself, never give up, step by step. It can be understood that Miranda has an upgraded pragmatic version of her father's character. Miranda is the inheritance and hope of the meaning in the film. If I also have a daughter as lovely as Miranda, I must leave something for her. If it can't be a powerful spiritual force like Charlie, it has to be a little material basis. Now, my stress is off topic~

Charlie and Miranda are so different. Miranda worked overtime to support her family, and Charlie mortgaged the property to hunt for treasure. Charlie said: I read a lot of celebrity autobiographies, and every celebrity dad is a passerby. Then Miranda said: But your father is also a passerby.
They are also similar sometimes. Charlie sells her beloved bass to redeem Miranda's car, and Miranda goes to a grown-up party (hilarious version) for her father's treasure hunt. . .

Some of the excerpts are very interesting:
the old Charlie got the aunty policeman with one look, but the young Miranda has no heartbeat for the show of love from some teenagers. . .
At the end of the film, the naked Asian men swim over to the California star music of chicken blood. . .

King of California quotes

  • Charlie: Catastrophe equals opportunity.

  • Miranda: [first lines - narration] Technically what happened wasn't my fault. I'm a minor, I'm not responsible for my actions. Technically.

    [alarm sounds, everyone runs]

Miranda: But these things should be taken on a case-by-case basis. In our case, I've always been the responsible party. Someone had to look out for him.
