who am I?

This is a very tragic movie. When I watched the first half, I was apprehensive, and when I watched the second half, I was worried. In such a so-called normal world, any person or thing that is abnormal in their eyes is destined to be destroyed by them. Sometimes the world seems like the sun is shining brightly, and sometimes it's a dark night.
If I were to ask, "who am I?", I think it would be difficult for me to answer. Brandon has gender identity disorder, she has a female body but a male mind. Whose fault is this? It is a pity that the film does not explore her inner world more and more deeply.
The lost generation in the United States is shown abnormally and chaotically in the film. Crime, self-mutilation, murder, while doing evil but not knowing what you are doing, why is there the tragedy of Brandon? Who will save the young and beautiful lives of Brandon and Jantes? And Tom and John, where did their consciences go when they committed such heinous atrocities? Who should be responsible for them?
At the end of the film, Lana was driving on the highway, the neon flying ahead was so beautiful, but the deep black and silent blood lingered in my heart.
PS: I have to say, the performances of several actors are excellent.

Boys Don't Cry quotes

  • Brandon: Lana, you are one cranky girl.

Lana: Yeah, well, you'd be cranky, too, Mister I'm Going To Memphis Graceland Tennessee, if you were stuck in a town where there's nothing to do but go bumper skiing and chase bats every night of your evil fucking life.

  • Lana: God, I hate my life.

Lana's Mom: [drunk on the sofa] Lana?

Brandon: I hate your life, too.
