Peekaboo with alien monsters

Before the release of "Battle of Los Angeles", it was full of anticipation. It turned out to be quite disappointing after watching it - at most, it was a lively war movie, and it didn't feel like a sci-fi masterpiece at all. But after watching "Sky Cataclysm", I feel that in terms of narrative, "Battle of Los Angeles" is like a Greek drama compared to it!

The story of "The Cataclysm of the Sky" can hardly be described as "bland" and "no climax". In the story as calm as pure water, we found that the director of the film ingeniously did not put the conflict between the people of the earth and the people of the earth. The alien invaders instead highlighted the shocking major differences between the four or five human protagonists, and made a tireless elaboration of the two lines and two concepts that they generated, that is: run out or stay? The two sides were arguing on the screen, and they were almost reminded of each other's debating friends to pay attention to their demeanor. There is no shortage of "what's going on here?" "I don't know." "What are they?" "Is it still important?" Such striking and wonderful lines appear repeatedly. The screenwriter and director may have the same sense of responsibility as recording the moments in human history, and keep repeating things like "start to hide and seek with alien monsters - be discovered by alien monsters - run back to the house to have a meeting and argue - continue to hide and seek action" The rhythm, like the OOXX mechanical movement, wants to bring the audience to the climax. Helpless, apart from a few large panoramic shots and flashing blue light, dozens of minutes of shots are comparable to amateur DV indoor scenes, which exposes the film director's trick of pretending to be a bed to attract audiences.

Maybe I realized that I can't cheat to the end, otherwise there will be no repeat customers; maybe I feel that I want to show the glorious image of the director's brother who came from the special effects industry. The ten minutes at the end of "The Cataclysm of the Sky" suddenly upgraded from the low-cost sci-fi film "Moon" to the level of Spielberg's "War of the Worlds": American fighter jets and some stragglers inexplicably came out to launch a non-comprehensive attack on aliens. fight back. The male and female protagonists suddenly found that alien monsters had a sudden increase in their interest in them, and they would not stop until they were sucked away... In order to show that he had a developed brain like an alien monster, the director finally played hard-heartedly, so that the ending of "Sky Cataclysm" had Get a taste of "Human-Beast Hybrid"! After more than an hour of hide-and-seek and debate, we can still see the horror cult clip presented by the director shyly. By the way, the only thing you can tell before the whole film is that the screenwriter is still an intelligent creature is when he asks the protagonist to lock the door with a rock when he opens the roof for the second time, and this detail is useless!

When the film ends with that faint spark of inspiration, you have no idea what the protagonists in the film are up to, what kind of people they are. Borrowing from Caesar's phrase "I came, I saw, I conquered", this film can be summed up as "Alien monsters are coming, the earthlings have run away, they have not run away, it is over". The last minute of "Sky Cataclysm" that left the sequel suspense may be worth more than the whole film! But I'm not interested in watching the sequel!

Khan, you can't just have special effects, the plot has no idea, this thing is too dealing with people.

Skyline quotes

  • Oliver: [to Jarrod] All right, I'll bite. What's your plan now, boss man? Because I'm dying for you to tell me.

    [pause]

    Oliver: What? Nothing to say?

Jarrod: We're sitting on the marina for christ sake!

    Oliver: I've noticed it.

Jarrod: They're hundreds of boats at the docks...

Candice: We've been through all this!

Oliver: Remind us how that worked out last time.

Jarrod: [trying to think] Well... uh... we... we'll go quietly this time. We wait until... uh... it gets a little quiet then we'll go down the back stairs and uh...

Oliver: We tiptoe to the marina... on foot in broad daylight with little cover and just search every boat until we find the right one with the key? Great plan!

Elaine: [to Jarrod] I can't believe you're even suggesting this after what happened!

Jarrod: What are you saying? What... are you saying that Terry's death was my fault? Are you blaming me for what happened?

Elaine: I was practically begging you not to go, but you and Terry wouldn't listen to me!

Jarrod: And if I had, do you really think Terry would have listened to me? Huh?

  • Elaine: Jarrod, what are you doing?

Jarrod: The only thing we can do. Making a run for it!

    Oliver: What's this really about?

Jarrod: Those things are coming for us!

Oliver: You think I haven't noticed that? You think I haven't noticed that mess under your shirt? The plan is we stay here and hold up... for good!

    Elaine: I agree!

Jarrod: You're going to let him decide everything? Look around you! We have no power. No more running water.

Elaine: Yeah, but you saw what is out there! We will not get 100 yards from this building!

Jarrod: Yeah, and I would rather take a stupid chance out there trying to make a run for it then staying up here in a 20-story target! Between those things and the radiation, we are dead up here!
