only a lonely heroine

When I watched the daffodils for the second time, I realized that I had seen this movie, but I forgot when it was, even the plot and feelings. So when I was in the room, I read it carefully, only to realize that the last time I had no impression was not without reason. If you don't pay attention, you won't see anything in this movie.
The movie only has a heroine but no hero. When I saw the first dressing room scene, I felt that this was a film about emotions between women. The women's locker room seen from Marcy's eyes is not at all what a woman looks like when she sees women, of course, she's just a girl. The girl looked at the woman changing clothes with curiosity, wide eyes and innocent expression. And Marcy looked at the women's locker room with cold curiosity, dodging eyes, and uneven breathing.
Why is it called a virgin birth? The combination of the titles of Daffodil Blossoms and Desires attracted me to watch this film. I saw it under the category of literary films on pptv, and then I was attracted by the face of the heroine at the beginning, the adolescent girl with long hands and feet and a face that looked like Alba. When Anna later said that Marcy was an airport, I was still thinking, Alba's breasts are so big... It's really a literary film, with an unclear plot, simple dialogue, rich psychological expressions, and ignorant expressions. In addition to being young, it is ignorant and presumptuous.
The three heroines are all alone, and Anna is a dead fat teenager who nobody likes, clumsy, stealing, and pretentious. Marcy was a strange half-grown child with dangling hands and feet that never seemed to know how to use them, and a strange personality and hobby. Frosiana looks beautiful but indulgent, so-called too good girls are always envied, she is the loneliest. I remember her sitting on the steps with Marcy, the first time she confided her true self to her, about how boys were courting her and seducing her, and she asked Marcy, you must have had it, didn't you? But Marcy didn't. So Frosiana said, You are lucky, really. In fact, she is very ordinary, very lonely.
The subject matter involved in the film is taboo, but the performance is very bland and obscure. There is no naked lust, only unease, hesitation, fear, and cautious attempts.
There are many psychological dramas, and those very careful plots are all to express psychology, and the performances of the actors are brilliant. Anna was wearing tight, unbuttoned trousers, and deliberately pulled down her clothes in an attempt to reveal her breasts to attract boys. Marcy was intoxicated while nibbling on the apples in the garbage bag, her chest heaving several times and her nervous breathing expressing desire. Frosiana was relatively plain, sometimes indifferent and as sweet as the girl next door. Three-and-a-half-year-old women, doing childish things, but fantasizing about women every day. Those who envy, who adore, who want to kiss, who want to dedicate themselves. Everyone is immersed in their own world, and when the old fairy tale world is in line with the new growth, a lot of joke-like absurd things happen. I'm not a big fan of the ending, although it's perhaps the most fitting ending for this bland movie. The ending is brave and may have a spiritual awakening and a twist, and that's what counts.
There is no doubt that Marcy's feelings for Frosiana are women's love and desire for women, but in the end she saw it clearly, let go, and relieved herself for a while. Frosiana I always have the feeling that she has always been a straight daughter, but when she calls Marcy over to kiss her, she is so engrossed and confused. No matter what feelings or desires, even the parties themselves can't figure it out, what the director wants to express may be a sense of confusion in seeking direction, stumbled attempts and impulses. After watching the movie, I was neither sad nor happy, and achieved the purpose of passing the time.

  • Marie: Who cares about being normal?

  • Marie: The ceiling is probably the last thing most people see. For at least 90% of people that die. For sure. And when you die, the last thing you see is printed in your eye. Like a photo. Imagine the number of people with ceilings in their eyes.

Floriane: Ceilings will never seem the same.
