There are too many discussions about justice. In fact, what I want to talk about in this movie is the kind of justice in life that Erica finally did. I remember that in the Analects of Confucius, it is said that it is not brave to see justice. Perhaps bravery is indeed associated with justice. Confucius used righteousness to promote courage, but what he meant by righteousness was the righteousness of benevolence and righteousness, which conformed to the framework of the feudal society's hierarchical ethics. Then, in this era of "spiritual structure in urgent need of transformation", can we infer righteousness from courage?
Courage, remember that Liang Jingru had a song of the same name, the love she sang. The movie also happens to start with Erica and her boyfriend's initial love affair. But can love be the same as righteousness? Personally, I feel that love is as vague as righteousness, and few people can clearly describe love as just like righteousness.
Some love is at the expense of others, and it cannot be counted as righteousness.
Therefore, a more specific and targeted explanation should be made about courage. Courage, I think, involves a transcendence, and this transcendence is not directionless, but its direction should point to a new balance, and this new balance is stronger than the old one. Therefore, courage is a power that is used in the process of transcendence. And this transcendence, its process and its result, should be a kind of righteousness.
Just like Erica's confession at the end of the movie:
There is no going back, to that other person, to other place, this whole thing, this stranger, she is all you are now.
A little personal opinion, everyone's criticism is welcome. :)
